Austin Reaves with an intentional missed free throw into a runner to tie the game bleep the discourse its time to love the hoops
Denver goes with a pindown for Jokic, Lakers switch which gives Reaves the matchup. Lakers double, Luka is in centerfield splitting two and Jokic takes two dribbles and fires it to THJ in the corner for 3.
Denver trying to get to Elbow action with Jokic, Murray and Gordon. Lakers working to switch everything. Smart shows help on the roll and who would have thought we would see Aaron Gordon no dip 3's
Back and forth between Denver and the Lakers. Jokic is on LaRavia so Lakers use him to screen for Luka. Dropped back and recovers to the pop and everyone stays at home. Now you see the activity vs. Luka
daylights saving time hits and the denver nuggets are going to go with aaron gordon at the five.
Denver trying things paying off. Lakers offense drying up a little, Denver able to attack in transition on top of what they have in the half court. It's very hard to *sustain* in today's game.
Pressure points will always keep pressure on a defense to sustain. Denver has Cam Johnson screen for Jokic, Lakers are switching but watch the other players. Jones cuts to clear space, fake flare on the weakside so the corner is empty. Jones hooks as Luka shows help, pass for 2
Intrigued from this from the Lakers defense. Denver goes with Jokic/Murray P&R, Ayton is at the level and sticking with Murray. Two on the ball. Denver goes to a rescreen and they hit again. Luka rotates to the pop, Kennard takes the next pass.
I remain very intrigued by the attempts from the Nuggets lineup wise and scheme wise in spite of the results. They are trying things.
Denver put Jokic on Smart, Lakers go pick and pop and Smart hits a 3. We're getting to that time of year of problem solving. You need multiple lineups, you need to be able to do multiple things on defense and offenses have to be able to poke at all the attempts.
Denver adjusts to have Jokic at the level in P&R vs. Jokic so it's two on the ball. Notice for LA the weakside is Kennard on the wing and again Austin Reaves in the corner. Skip pass on time, Reaves beats the closeout and finishes. Lakers poking at Denver's help.
The thing I want to point out with the Lakers/Nuggets/Wolves/Rockets thing is wave the narrative away, they all have high ceilings they can hit. Can understand questioning *will* they but they've alternated. And two of them will likely do it to each other.
Denver has kept Jokic back in pick and roll and relied on help, Luka has had no problem taking the space and reading the defense. Just engages and skips to the corner. Plus for LA to have Reaves in the weakside corner.
First set for the Lakers, post up for LeBron, pindown for Austin Reaves into a handoff to Luka Doncic. Denver has Jokic staying back in a drop with Braun showing help off the wing to take away space. Didn't matter to Luka who went right to a stepback.
Celtics using Jayson Tatum as a screener for Derrick White. No switch which opens the pop. Drive forces more help, gets it right to Queta.
Back and forth as the Spurs have played well on both ends, Hornets find a way to respond, Spurs respond to extend the lead and now we're just stuck at 8.
Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers, Kelsey Plum, Chelsea Gray and Angel Reese is a fun lineup.
Team USA dialing down the pressure a little vs. Italy but still active. With Howard starting, more switching. Italy's done a good job of being decisive and getting to the next action but that's where the denials become key.
I am enjoying watching Carter Bryant do the little things when he's out there.
Hornets love to run this action for Kon Knueppel. Start him off the corner, stagger but space between the screens and bring him right up the middle of the floor. Spurs see it and switch from the corner. Kon doesn't need a ton of space, gets you off balance and goes to work
One of the more underrated things Diabate does for Charlotte: elbow flashes to keep the flow going. Doesn't have the first cut, gets a handoff and rolls. Gets right back to the elbow. LaMelo Ball able to play pass + catch and score.
The Hornets love starting the game with inverted P&R for Moussa Diabaté (and it keeps working)
Sixers were up 77-56 on the Nets at the end of three. The Nets had made a total of 8 threes.
At the 3:02 mark the game was tied at 87, the Nets made 6 threes during that stretch.
fairs
i scroll and wonder which part of the season fanbases enjoy like which part is fun
The Rockets vs. switching has been the hidden part.
Sometimes late in games the Suns occasionally turn up the volume too loud on matchup hunting and get themselves stagnant stagnant.
So, @nekiasnba.bsky.social and I broke down some FILM!
The little things that Kon Knueppel does as a screener to elevate the Charlotte Hornets offense.
