one of the fundamental political divides is "it's better to deprive millions of people of basic needs so that a couple dozen people don't game the system" vs "what the fuck is wrong with you"
Another incredible resource is lifeline4gaza.com, which currently includes 400+ funding appeals from people in Gaza and displays the amount donated over the last 5 days. Open the link and you will see the appeals ordered from least to most donations so the most neglected campaigns are at the top.
I am a writer and activist; I spend my whole life trying to put words to pain too great to speak.
The fact is, I fucking can’t. The fact is there are no words for this, for the sheer awfulness of knowing human beings are being deliberately starve — and when they seek food, they are killed for it.
Some of the bottles of rice and formula and flour Egyptians threw into the sea have actually made it to Gaza - now people in Cyprus and Lebanon are joining the effort, with scientists from all over the world virtually assisting them in figuring the time and location to do so based on the currents. 💚
Two million people are being threatened with forced starvation in #Palestine, as the US government continues to support ongoing ethnic-cleansing.
We've created a list of on-the-ground mutual aid groups in #Gaza that you can support, amplify, and follow. itsgoingdown.org/your-guide-o...
All famines are man-made, all famines are political. Historians of empire and humanitarianism have known this forever. Gaza is not starving, Gaza is being starved, by Israel, and this starvation is enabled by our government and by every other government that does not step in to force food and aid.
I know the international rules-based order has always been a bit of a conceit, but I really think we're going to rue the quiet death of the Genocide Convention. If a country can unambiguously bomb, shoot and starve a people out of existence without any pushback whatsoever, we're all in grave danger.
Why doesn't the world stop when children are being starved. Why does anything matter more than that. I just don't understand and feel completely sick
Andrea Gibson has died.
Wait, wasn’t it supposed to close for good in May?
Today, or tomorrow, or this upcoming week: Find someone that needs help that you can help with and help them. Make a point of it. Ask around. We need each other. Let's get in the habit of helping each other, in defiance of the society that seeks to kill us; Being alive is the -most- punk rock thing.
injection site redness and soreness. like a flu jab. nothing else of note for me.
stop looking for the helpers and be the motherfucking helper
just because you can doesn’t mean you should
I don’t think any country is likely to withdraw.
Please keep this in mind. If you’re not sure of a fundraiser, no one is forcing you to donate or repost. If you’re annoyed, mute or block and move on
