A... protein-tart? o,O

I like the MCDM approach that you listen to them about what they don't like, but *not* what to do about it.
Desperately wish reddit and Tumblr were not neurotoxin to my brain from a ui/ux perspective cos I'm pretty sure they're THEE placed to grow writing-centric audiences.
Mmhm, but getting and sorting that feedback is its whole own bugbear. You can't just change whatever someone doesn't like cos then it'll be a way someone else also doesn't like, ya know?
Indeed, such is the layer of hell I find myself in - at least the water's warm! :)
Indeed, but in my case it can be 1,000 instances of me doing what feels most intuitive that come off as awkward missteps to other people.
Yeahhh \: hard to remember but always very painfully true. I often find myself yearning for a more stripper-cake relationship with my tabletop RPGs, but I know it's never to be outside of a game I'm literally running. Which is how the cake works too, come to think...
:O rip, I can see the ambiguity but I totally got the idea of "this is the Outfit." A lot of it's a hard-to-convey headspace and sense of the game, and sadly much of what we have to visually convey that stuff is very end-point (e.g. art, layout) in the full life of a game.
It's a small thing but just sort of example 9,999 of why everyone who gives advice like "just write what's most intuitive to you!" is largely doing you as good as huffing helium. Like dawg I already wrote the game intuitively to me! Hell, that's where half the problems start!
In the new ChangedStars Quickplay, I have a checklist for combat where I wrote "What’s the weapon’s Mod(ifier)?"
To me, this is the most intuitive and succinct way to communicate that the Mod column and Modifier are the same thing. But I'm gonna re-write it because apparently I'm alone on this 1.
Casual reminder I made a video essay about the oft-overlooked N64 adventure game, Shadowgate 64, and you can watch it now!

I ask you to consider how you would feel in our position. Because I, for one, think everyone who tells us to be content within a limited lane lays the brick and smears the mortar of Hasbro's firewall day-in, day-out, and you know what? At least the cloutmongers do it for money. They do it free!
Now this may sound harsh to some of you, but if you fundamentally believe that indie TTRPGs (e.g. people who don't have money) should content themselves entirely with "small, tight, focused experiences" because you're only going to pay for and play a game that does more from a billion-dollar corp...
Do you yearn to go a`viking? Are you a Shadowdark enjoyer or otherwise an OSR fan? East Kyrlizia has just the region for you! Climb aboard and sail to a land of dangerous uncertainty and bounty left for the plundering.
"We could've charged him with distribution"-level finds also disqualifying also holy shit I will never understand how that man walked.
Oooh holy shit I did not realized it was a Roman Polanski joint, just sorta a movie to watch on some site that was mildly occultic/interesting. Yeah, wOOf.
The Will to walk your own path proves too taxing for many in the hobbyspace. That's why the ultimate manifestation of my capacity and desire to bring the light of Joy to others gets called a "hobbyspace."
Go boldly and piss off a YouTuber. But take this... it's dangerous to go alone:🗡️
Oh God, what did Ninth Gate guy do?¿

I feel like everyone's "separate the art from the artist" breaks down real real fast when confronted with "you know that artist is a convicted pedophile, right?" Sort of puts paid to the idea on the whole in some ways. Like there IS always a line y'cannae separate.
We will have to create a database and perform a quantitative analysis...!
What if it curves left? 🤔

My file names tend to be long enough to have explanations in them, but that's probably not great either x-x definitely an important element to factor in!
Nah yeah forreal, I want to be as un-spoiled as possible. The era of trailers spoiling the twist reaLLy gets to me.
What tabletop news has you excited this month? :3 #ttrpg
