That final fight I reloaded 3 times. I'd made a choice that meant we had no reinforcements, and didn't fully understand certain mechanics. I also made an amateur mistake any gamer/designer shouldn't (if you encounter an enemy that eats its allies for hp, kill off the allies first).

Hehe, I'm still in my first playthru where I did the opposite of that, Noble/Officer with an order focus. I think the default party they give you strongly covers the bases so you're pretty free to build what grabs you. The prologue will have 2-3 tutorial fights but nothing serious until the final.

Makes me feel like people are ready for something fast and brutal with an engaging story that neither holds your hand nor insists combat is "a failstate."

I met many homeless people and they were all working very hard to improve their situation and conscientious towards others despite their own situation, unless they were obviously visibly unwell. And even then you could tell there was this internal conflict within them. I should have done more.

I think about a homeless guy, kid really, I met in Baltimore's Inner Harbour. I offered him a job but he turned it down because "people don't really like us (homeless)." We had multiple unhoused people working for us, I should've sold harder, gotten him $. His nose was broken.
