It's #FossilFriday! I found this tyrannosaur tooth last summer in the "Mesaverde" Formation of Wyoming, during our excavation of a vertebrate microfossil bonebed. I found a second one the same day -- what a thrill! Collected under permit from #BLMPaleo, accessioned at @alfpaleo.bsky.social

Fossil Fest at the @alfpaleo.bsky.social was very successful today. I got to make booklets for both kids and adults alike, as well as outreaching to a lot of paleontologists, some that may be vital for my career. I also got to be with old friends and overall, it was an amazing day. :D

ID query -- anyone have ideas? This fossil is from one of our "Mesaverde" Formation sites (~78 Ma). Looks to be palatal element, with one row of dentition. Hard to tell tooth implantation style. Fish? Lizard? We have marine and terrestrial taxa at the site. (BLM paleo permit, @alfpaleo.bsky.social)
