The headstone is displayed. It reads… Forever In Our Hearts. Sarah Emily Knopf. February 11, 1997 to February 21, 2024. Beloved Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Cousin & Friend. 11 months ago, my wife Sarah passed away. Today we had her unveiling where the headstone was shown to close family members and friends. It’s been a difficult year, but the kids and I are finally figuring out how different life looks like without Sarah.

This picture was taken at Lahaina Grill, a place my late wife, kids and I visited often. I took this photo in June 2022. We were supposed to be there at the same restaurant in August 2023 on the same day the fire happened. Luckily our trip got delayed last minute.

@skynewss.bsky.social can you help me find the segment you did on your reporter evacuating my friend’s mom from the LA fires? Her name is Liz Lerner and your reporters got her out when her neighbors left her for dead. Her daughter was a friend in high school who passed away many years ago.

This is what it looked like when we evacuated from Oak Park last night. Thankfully the firefighters stopped the forward progress of the fire last night.

The @watchduty-bot.m.ai6yr.org.ap.brid.gy app tonight is pinging me every 3-5 minutes with fire updates. It a great app, but my anxiety is growing as the winds pickup and the fires spread.

Trying to keep myself distracted while the winds in LA are howling and there are fires burning. 50-80 mph winds with 100 mph gusts are expected.

I’ve taken some great panoramic pictures, but that was as close as I got to capturing its majesty. Even those didn’t do it justice. This time I tried capturing Spatial photos so I’ll see if that’s a better option when I finish combing through my pictures.

I was just there with my kids shooting nature and landscape photography. This is a fantastic picture. Even the best pictures I’ve seen never do it justice since it’s more breathtaking in person.

I deleted my Twitter account with 12k followers (down from 21k). I had executives from major companies following me along with Barack Obama. To me it didn’t matter, because when X became a cesspool, it was time to go.

The hardest part is ignoring what people say about something you’ve worked so hard on. You cannot make a game that everyone likes. It’s just not possible. Unfortunately people on the Internet have become emboldened to say things to you that they wouldn’t say in real life. Be proud of what you made.

Yep. I ended up having to shoot with a much wider angle on my main camera since I had taken my 100-500 mm lens initially.

The photographer was my oldest son who asked me to pose this way when I wanted a shot of me near the edge. The Grand Canyon is visible in the background and you can see 10-15 miles across it.

When the photographer becomes the subject of the photo. This is what happens when I let my kids photograph me. I’m much more comfortable behind the camera.
