Astronomer Royal takes up presidency at Institute of Physics Professor Michele Dougherty succeeds Sir Keith Burnett as President, while Professor Paul Howarth becomes President-elect.

Michele is the first woman to hold the title of Astronomer Royal in 350 years and brings world-leading experience in space exploration and physics research.
