“are you staying long enough to steal some of this brittle off me, at least?” austin grins, nodding towards the pot. “i think i’ve got more than i need to sell. been cooking all morning.”

“uh-huh.” the baker gives will a lighthearted once-over. “i’m sure you would if i let you.” he opens his oven, squinting to gaze at the brownies inside. too gooey. he closes it again and focuses his attention back to the other man.

“will.” a voice greets. austin slips inside after doing some garden work out back, jeans and hands covered in dirt. a familiar dog trails in behind him, a toy in her maw. he grabs a stray cloth off the counter, giving his hands a quick wipe.

“you’ve come to snack me out of business, i assume?”
