I enjoyed your points. We probably agree on a lot but not everything. I'm not keen on an IQ test for voting, for example. Our disagreements may be semantics more than anything.

In my view communism, socialism, and capitalism are all good tools. And public libraries are an example of good communism.

The current American system is not a safeguard against dictatorship. Trump won't be stopped by capitalism or economic theories.

An educated, well informed and active public is the best (and perhaps only) safeguard against dictatorship, regardless of the economic systems being used.

You said communism, the idea of "from each according to ability, to each according to need", is inherently bad. And yet you would allow freeloaders to walk into libraries without paying? Earlier you said this sort of utopian arrangement won't work, and leads us to dictatorship.

So should we get rid of our public libraries?

I was able to get a high school education, and often made good use of the local libraries. In one of my places of residence we had a community center, which was open to all. I used it often.

Communism isn't inherently bad, nor is it to blame for Russia's problems. It works very well for some things. Our public schools and libraries are a good example. Communal property paid for according to means, available to all based on need. Everyone benefits from a well educated populace.

What systems of economics are you claiming these countries were using, and how was that the root of any problems that may have resulted?

North Korea doesn't seem to have any system other than Kim Jong Un is in charge. It isn't communism.

It seems it would be more reasonable to blame the current system for the problems, rather than blame an economic model that under some circumstances work very well.

We ought to freely use the ideas of capitalism, or socialism, or communism, with more nuance than "capitalism bad" for example.

Some might guess that Trump acquired the Miss Universe contest in order to recruit sex slaves for Epstein. This vicious rumor can be dispelled by releasing the Epstein Files immediately.
