After reading this thread, I'm glad I emailed Paiken to explain why Tory was not a good mayor.

John Tory says he won't run for Toronto mayor this fall | CBC News Former Toronto mayor John Tory has announced he will not run again for the city's top job in this fall's municipal election.

Tory was status quo mayor his entire time in office, making only incremental steps when bolder action was needed to meet Toronto's challenges. Good riddance.

And here is some of the small army of police who showed up to protect the hate ralliers. Go write some speeding tickets; that's a more protective use of your time!

Attended the Anti-Hate protest opposing a Canada First rally this morning at the north end of Queen's Park. Missed the one at Christie Pits last month (I was out of town) and really wanted to make this one.

I have to seriously think about some of the things he discusses, such as the role of the Charter and the Supreme Court in the Canadian political system.

Conservatives won't support Liberal border bill without major changes: Pierre Poilievre | CBC News Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre says the federal Liberals must either heavily amend their border bill or introduce a new piece of proposed legislation if they want support to pass it into law.

I have to admit, Poilievre is correct about this. Bill C-2 has major privacy issues, and if this pushes the Carney government to correct them, then good on Poilievre.
