#musicscience folks 🎵🧪, does anyone know of any papers where the perceived consonance/dissonance of harmonic intervals with the same width but different tonal implications is tested (e.g. major 3rd vs diminished 4th)?

John Lafferty taught me intro ML in 2019 and it has completely transformed the way I think about music, cognition and data in general
told myself I'd spend some time running some new models for a corpus analysis this morning, but my old ML professor just emailed me to say that he's been using the PCA on violin mocap data from my article in Music Perception as a pedagogical example for the past few years and now I'm 🥺🥺🥺
i love how after an audition i can actually listen to the music i had to practise without hating it
i find myself coming back to this article from 1958(!) surprisingly frequently for my diss and while the actual calculations are...unhinged, the ideas are right on #musicscience
