Part of the problem must be-
No matter how hard they try, if they are at least somewhat mentally balanced, even if minimally educated, can’t grip the mindset that says,

followed by

then actually tries to do it.

When I was younger I’d think about how easy it would be to get rich if I could go back in time just a few decades. Applying innovations, inventing, research… bank robbing,

I think life can be won with the one trait of a finely honed ability to tell people what they NEED to hear in a way that sounds like what they WANT to hear.

If we had done a better job funding education, as we all knew it badly needed for too long, maybe we wouldn’t have cultivated a population of voters that would elect someone who reads at a 2nd grade level and who would defund education as one of their early moves.
