Wilson, like Wright before him, wrestled with the psychic toll of racial violence on Black families in his paintings and lithographs.
With “Native Son,” Richard Wright ignited a fire in American literature. One of the most influential writers of the 20th century, he inspired many, including the artist John Wilson, who would go on to use Wright’s words in his prints and paintings.
