affirmations for the artists and the sickos. you will not feel bad about using references or 3d models in a time when the most rat faced soulless tech ceos are burning billions of dollars and trees for a slop machine that they will call art with their whole fucking chest
Oh I love herrrr that’s an excellent suggestion!
Bring on the requests! Be as specific as you want haha My own characters will also be considered
The ongoing struggle between “want to make this story the best that it can be” vs “fear of people tearing apart something personal to me” vs “if I’m going to spend so much time and effort, I better LOVE it to commit” vs “this might be my only shot” vs “have the audacity of a mediocre white guy”
I’ve had three failed attempts at playing in a Curse of Strahd campaign (and played Death House more than that). Seeing other people get to experience it is like wistfully watching from a window and cheering them on lol
As a player I haven’t been in a successful campaign since 2010 in 4th edition 😔
Hearing people talk about how they're only getting half of the art gigs they used to
And I'm like
Truly… to know that there are people who don’t question a single thing and believe themselves entitled… it should empower us not to second guess ourselves 😤
Know that I love reading about people’s DnD characters and their adventures on my feed, even if it gives me melancholic feelings of being left out of the fun. The joy is always more powerful in the end. And when all is said and done, I love a good story.
Anyway all that to come back around and say, the complaints about a new Barovia book have no roots for me. I haven’t even met that man, the campaigns never went that far!! More Strahd, and more gothic horror please
Which is when I finally felt confident enough to run my homebrew world without the guidelines of a module.
Turns out that running a module is a lot more work in many ways! Breaking free of someone else’s narrative chains and framework made things so much easier to plan around!
On the DM side of things, I’ve completed six? whole campaigns, and am running two currently. In 2020 when everyone was looking for a DM online I ran 5(!) Waterdeep Dragon Heist campaigns simultaneously lol that was confusing as heck but I had perfectly homebrew fixed the module by the end
I think my actual dream campaign was The Wild Beyond the Witchlight. I bought it and set it aside with the naive hope I would someday be asked to play in it/find a campaign for it. Finally last year I caved and read it to take inspiration for my players’ own journey into my game’s fey territory

Godddd you get it though! It’s the culture of the now that people will leap down your throat thinking you’re endorsing every bad decision a character makes. That’s a character journey. It has to go somewhere by definition! A story needs conflict! That is not creator endorsement! Blargh
Why yes I *am* overthinking my creative journey and goals again. It *is* a Wednesday, after all

Yeah the least they can do is throw a code into the physical book to have it referenced digitally too! But nah, nickelled and dimed. What else from capitalism lol
The best part is being able to pick and choose what works for us! Like the new healing? Amazing.
I get that!! I can’t stand how many times over they want us to buy things. My stubbornness knows no bounds and I WILL transcribe things myself haha
Yeah they’re def going to update all of the subclasses and, of course, package them into NEW books that must also be purchased
You can play any subclass, it’s just not scaled yet! Dndbeyond lets you pick the old ones and does its best to apply the features where they should pop up
A CUTIEPIE AWWW my kingdom for Joel's success with the coven
oh my goddd that's a strong character concept right there
btw about that pixar thing, the reason why these people think having a conversation about gay people with kids is difficult is because they don't know a way to say to their kid "gay people are normal but you are not allowed to be one" without sounding like a bigot (there is a reason for that)
The pain of finding something gluten free that actually tastes great but it’s instantly unavailable in stores, or they change the recipe inexplicably
I just want food that doesn’t adhere to my teeth and throat like I’m attempting to consume wallpaper pulp
Oh my gosh the layers to this! Love the use of a celestial warlock in almost a sorcerer way, and the ancestral connection is so touching. Plus an aasimar in a fey world 👀
I FINALLY FINISHED ALL THE SHOP DOCS FOR MY LATEST #dnd GAME
I am so tired of typing and formatting and reformatting and inventing new homebrew!!! But it’s done!!
I rounded down a ton while adding up the word count on this project. So since the start of the year, I’ve added 90k words to it 🫣
I really wanna hear about people’s #ttrpg character arcs… share them with meeee
