Where do we draw the line as a country?
If you ask me, a lot of Americans connect the idea of freedom to their cars, so my guess is people won’t really push back until gas prices hit a breaking point.
In the liberal tradition, property rights come from self‑ownership: if we own ourselves, we own the products of our labor. That right has limits when others lack “enough and as good” opportunities. Basic income is a way to universalize those opportunities and keep the promise of that tradition alive
Pay down debt.

Exactly, I feel this too and see an overwhelming work to shift people into more positive behavior and healthier actions overall
We could do $12,000 every year, or better yet, $1,000 every month (or better yet $1,300/mo per person instead of per household of four). And we could do it for everyone instead of only households under $150,000 in annual income and call it universal basic income instead of direct payments.

Fascism does exist, but using the label indiscriminately shuts down understanding and slips into its own kind of anti-human framing

We can bring most of hurt and lost, uneducated etc people back into a sense of community
Well I say you’re headed in the correct direction but I’d reconcile the percentage lower and the rest are in other minority categories eg racists ext
It’s a larger base of HUMANS lashing out, who feel the system doesn’t hear them
They’re feeling used and duped, which cause shame and vulnerable

What Donald Trump has done is unacceptable.
The people who supported him are not beyond return.
Holding people permanently guilty for believing him only guarantees they keep believing him.
My sense is you create more problems than you solve.
He’s their meal ticket, it may also indicate they are complicit or compromised themselves
Greenland has a model worth exploring it has a traditional Inuit stewardship of land as a shared resource. You can own buildings and long-term rights to use land, but no one privately owns the land itself in Greenland as it’s held by the public and maintained by its government.
