I found out yesterday that (on PC at least) there's a dedicated button for the Helix Jump! It is s o much easier to do that and then chain a jump and a dash...

Had dreams about my ex, I think I deserve a little treat now that I'm awake to make up for it. 💔

It's really weird, I keep forgetting it's not there and double jumping by accident... The helix jump is great but I seriously need to change the key binds so it's easier to do.

I get the feeling that liking Rerir is going to be like liking Dottore in that the fandom is going to be weird about him and either demonise him beyond what he's actually done in canon or babyify him while simultaneously demonising other characters who are just a little mean to the Traveler.
