The good thing about the Ashes being in Australia (and therefore mostly played when I am asleep) is that, much like a tiddlywinks match against Narnia or a pickleball tournament in Mordor, it only exists if I want it to. #ashes

By every observable metric, the world is a shittier place with Tr*mp as president of the USA.

It’s mental that in 2025 the world is hovering on the brink of major, potentially devastating conflict due to the whims of a bunch of elderly men using their own iterations of the same f*cking deity as justification. F*ck the lot of them, and all their cronies!

I think any type of military parade to celebrate some rich nob’s birthday is weird and creepy.
When can we move away from worshipping people, who through inheritance or exploitation, or both, have accumulated more stuff than they need? It is a millstone around the neck of human progress.

You cannot claim a music competition is about celebrating love, togetherness and unity if one of the participants is representing a country that is committing genocide and murdering children.
Art is political. Music is political. F*ck Eurovision.

After due consideration, having weighed up the relevant evidence, assessed the balance of arguments and gamed the likely implications, I have reached the conclusion that Keir Starmer can fuck off from a great height.

At least we can celebrate V.E day safe in the knowledge that Fascism is no more; and that people no longer vote for populist grifters who use marginalised communities to channel the rage of the people away from the real cause of society’s problems.

Humans: learning from our past mistakes. Go, us.

If the Green Party had the same coverage as Reform it would be them winning in a landslide.

But of course the Green Party would actually tax the billionaires, so they won't platform them.

It takes a lot of stupidity and ignorance to think that Reform are the answer to anyone’s problems.
It also takes monumental arrogance and fuckwittery for Labour to think that their current neo-liberal, Tory-(not so)-lite meandering is going to work.
The nation needs some hope. Fürage ain’t it.

I know that people weren’t prepared to change our economic system to *checks notes* save the planet, but perhaps, if the world’s financial wellbeing can be flushed down the toilet due to the whims of one, deranged, orange, man-baby, then it’s not a great system?

None of their policies or narratives are based on fact, just on feelings of anger, resentment and a misplaced sense of superiority.
It’s clear that we need to rejoin the EU and create stronger ties with our other allies.

Tr*mp and his merry band of nobheads don’t want “America first”, they want “America alone”. Trying to appease him is pointless and embarrassing. We are basically in an abusive relationship with a narcissist with the IQ of a turnip.

Agonising! I’m surprised that when we got our hands on the cup someone didn’t instinctively try and grabber it!

Can our politicians and press stop f-ing around and call out the Fanta piss goblin’s lies, and challenging him for the dangerous wank-puffin he is.
Also, stop platforming Führage and his cabal of Putin apologists.
We have got where we are by allowing these fascist pricks to dictate the narrative.

“Pro-western” like Putin or Orban? What are your sources for saying Starmer is funded by China? Starting to think you’re a bot.

The outside interests the current US administration are working for are those of the ultra wealthy. They do not care about the other classes. If you believe anything else you are delusional.

…and peace. You tell me. It’s an illusion. What kind of peace? The peace that Trump and his cabal of nazis is proposing only suits them.

Dear BBC. We get it. You don’t like Rachel Reeves. None of us do.
Right now though, I’m a teeny bit more concerned with the accelerating decent into fascism of one of our allies and what it means for world peace.

Wasn’t the US system designed with checks and balances to specifically stop one despotic imbecile from wielding this kind of unfettered, power. What has gone so wrong? Lots of things are incorrectly labelled as fascist or authoritarian, but it’s hard not to jump to this conclusion at the moment.

This petition to stop Musk donating insane amounts of money to UK political parties just hit 70,000 signatures - up from 30k a day ago. Can we make it hit the 100k mark tomorrow and trigger a parliamentary debate??

Reeves to water down tax raid on non-doms amid exodus of millionaires The chancellor is to amend some of the changes to tax rules for non-domiciled individuals announced in October’s Budget

10,000 of 3,000,000 millionaires left the country last year - 0.33%. These people would rather leave than pay tax - good riddance I say. Let’s not change our approach to appease rich freeloaders.

I am all for historical research, but can we stop this live “What would we all have done during the 1930s” experiment, please? I think the results are pretty conclusive.
