Some of these events are literally just scams made to extract entrance fees from people while offering nothing in return besides a spot in a event noone will visit.

Yeah it really is a symbiotic relationship, where they have everything to gain, and especially their customers have everything to gain by more people making stuff for it, and nothing really to lose.
You can't stop piracy you can just make it annoying for legitimate users to get stuff.

Literallyy the only reason i make anything is because i wanna wear it. Im never choosing to wear a head or body that i cant make stuff for.
People complained about the legacy devkit system but imo its perfect. Its a little speedbump that you can traverse.
Other kits applications are a black box.

Me buying like all the genus morphs and skins, being denied the kit and denied the appeal, and never using the head again.

The most helpful advice i can give is do it for yourself, constantly seek to improve, and what comes comes.
Also analyze what other people do and break down what you like about it and why, and try to practice implementing that into your own work.
