People of all genders, races, and backgrounds are making these choices, and the harm comes from the ideology, not just who’s carrying it. If we’re going to be honest about what’s happening to this country, we have to be honest about who’s enabling it — and that includes men just as much.

These are babies. They are not threats. They are not numbers. They are not cases. They are children who will carry this trauma for the rest of their lives. And one day, we will have to answer for what we allowed to be done to them. This isn’t law and order — this is cruelty dressed up as procedure.

That’s what makes this kind of violence so unbearable — it doesn’t just end a life, it shatters an entire lifetime of memories, and all the futures that were supposed to come after. No parent should ever have to hold that kind of grief. My heart breaks for her, and for everyone who loved him.
