📌 Stronger EU oversight on spyware use and exports
📌 Concrete safeguards to protect journalists, sources, and civil society
📌 Clarification and strict limitation of national security exceptions under EMFA
📌 Support for victims’ access to justice and remedy

❗ A key takeaway of the panel: while the European Media Freedom Act (#EMFA) entering into force this August is a crucial step, loopholes around the undefined ‘national security’ exception risk undermining its safeguards.
