As we remember all the innocent lives lost throughout these last two horrible years, we reaffirm that no one should ever feel unsafe in Canada.

Jewish communities have faced rising antisemitism in Canada and around the world - we must ALL stand against it.

Two years ago Hamas launched a brutal terrorist attack on Israel, killing innocent civilians and abducting hostages. Canada stands in solidarity with Jewish families and communities across Canada and globally. I unequivocally condemn the violence and terror carried out by Hamas.

Today, September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We honour the children who never returned home, Survivors of residential schools, and their families. Public commemoration of this history is vital to reconciliation. Every Child Matters. #NDTR #OrangeShirtDay

Quality sports programs have the power to change children’s lives. Honoured to join Executive Director of Jays Care Peter King as @avankoeverden.bsky.social announced funding for Jays Care programs so youth facing barriers across the country can play baseball.

Defacing the National Holocaust Monument in Ottawa is unacceptable, cowardly & hateful.

That sacred monument honours the memory of 6 million Jews and all victims of Nazi atrocities.

This antisemitic act of vandalism will not be tolerated. The Ottawa Police are investigating.

My thoughts are with the Jewish community, particularly the families, friends and colleagues of the Israeli embassy staff who were murdered in Washington yesterday.

Antisemitism is a scourge on society and it must end. The violence and fear that Jewish communities experience is wholly unacceptable.
