The protest — one of 2,500 nationwide — is over in Evanston.

As the protest comes to a close, attendees are told there is more work to be done when it comes to stopping the Trump Administration. Then “Down by the River” is sung.

Today’s protest is part of a series of protests against the Trump Administration. That includes the first “No Kings” protest in June and the “Hands Off” protest in April.

The Trump administration reached trade deals with Japan and the European Union earlier this month. I asked Gov. Tony Evers (D-WI) how these tariffs could impact farmers in the state.

A June poll, which came out before Evers' announcement, showed 55% of those surveyed did not want him to run for reelection. That includes 93% of Republicans, 50% of independents and 15% of Democrats.

Gov. Tony Evers (D-WI) talked about his decision not to run for reelection in 2026. He was elected in 2018 and 2022. Evers is eligible to run for a third term but chose not to. Today, Evers said that if he had run for reelection, he was confident that he would have won.
