Panel 1: Shen is squatting down with his elbows on his knees, talking to a small blob labeled "Self Esteem". Shen asks "Self Esteem, why are you so small?" Panel 2: Self Esteem looks down, frowning, and says "Sorry." Shen responds "It's okay," patting Self Esteem's head. Panel 3: Shen lifts Self Esteem upon his hand and points behind him with his thumb, also shifting his gaze that way. He says "just try to be a little more like your BROTHER." Panel 4: A huge lime green block with buff orange-ish arms and legs is wearing fake elf ears and holding a disproportionately tiny bow and arrow. He yells "I FUCKING LOVE LEGOLAS". Panel 1: There is a small, pink, frowning blob labeled "Self Esteem". Shen is crouching down to it, resting his elbows on his knees, and asking, "Self Esteem, why are you so SMALL?" Panel 2: Self Esteem looks down with reflective, emotional eyes and says "I'm s-sorry." Shen's hand pets it on the head as Shen, from off-panel, says "It's okay!" Panel 3: Shen, still resting his hand on Self Esteem's head, points behind him with his thumb, and shifts his eyes to gaze that way too. Self Esteem also looks that way, curious. Shen says "just take some notes from your brother, okay?" Panel 4: In the corner of a room, on a metal bench bending under his weight, sits a massive lime green blob labeled "Elf Esteem." He has a menacing and confident smile and muscular yellow arms and legs, and he is curling a dumbbell with his left arm. He's surrounded by posters of fictional elf women, such as Frieren, Zelda, and Marcille Donato. He also has a bow and arrow leaned against the wall, and a pair of fake elf ears on the ground near him.

Panel 1: Shen is pointing and yelling at a hooded figure in a dark purple cloak with a metal buckle, and glowing red eyes within the darkness of the hood. The figure is carrying a large scythe. Shen is yelling "OH MY GOD, IT'S THE GRIM REAPER!!!" Panel 2: The figure partly lifts the hook of his cloak to reveal that he is just a normal, fairly pale human, albeit with red irisis (possibly contacts), purple hair, and decorative choker spiked bracelets. He responds "actually, I'm just a goth farmer." Panel 3: Shen points the other way and, with a shocked expression, yells "OH MY GOD IT'S SATAN!!!" Panel 4: There is a red-skinned man whose messy red hair vaguely makes the shape of horns. He is wearing a spiky choker, a t-shirt the sleeves of which end in a bit of fishnet, and dark red overalls with a pentagram symbol. He has a pitchfork. He responds "actually I'm a goth farmer with a sunburn." Panel 5: Shen points a third direction and yells, again with a shocked expression, "OH MY GOD IT'S CTHULHU." Panel 6: It actually is Cthulhu. He's wearing a blue sweatshirt with a wave symbol in the middle and drinking strawberry bubble tea. He says "sup."

This comic is in Shen's old art-style, which features big circular eyes, stockier bodies, and overall less detail (face lines, muscle definition, clothing folds). Panel 1: Shen is happily running, grasping the string of a bright yellow balloon. The balloon is labeled "Self-Esteem". Panel 2: Life walks into the panel holding a needle to the balloon. Shen skids to a halt in front of Life but it's too late -- the needle has popped the balloon, it's shape still vaguely outlined in the air by the chunks of yellow rubber now falling apart. Panel 3: Yellow balloon chunks rain down, a few landing on Shen's hair. He is distraught and crying a waterfall of tears from both eyes. He says: "Why" Panel 4: Life just smiles wide and shrugs.

Panel 1: Shen is scratching the back of his head, looking awkwardly off to the side, and blushing a bit. He says "Listen bro this is so embarrassing. I've, uh ... I've imprinted on you ... Yeah ... Yeah like a baby duck." Panel 2: Shen raises his hands defensively, seeming to be responding to something you, the viewer, are saying. He says "NO, >>LISTEN<<! LISTEN, INTELLECTUALLY--" Panel 3: Shen puts both his hands out, as if to indicate for you to stop talking for a second. He says "Can I talk? Can I just talk for like a MINUTE and then you can say your piece" Panel 4: Shen nervously tugs the left sleeve of his sweatshirt with his right hand, looks to the side and down, and blushes. He says "Okay, so ... INTELLECTUALLY I know you are not my mom. But" (The comic ends there.)

Lilith and Ana are at a clothing store, in the changing room area. Lilith has just come out of one of the changing rooms in a green Legend of Zelda triforce t-shirt (the one with wings, a bit like a bird), cargo shorts with big pockets, and a socks and sandals wombo combo. She is holding the back of her head and blushing a bit. Ana, meanwhile, is saying "WOAOH MAMA" with her eyes bulging, steam coming out of her nose and ears, and her tongue sticking out, twisted into a spiral like you might see in Junji Ito's Uzumaki.

Panel 1: A soldier wears sound-blocking headphones, but in a crooked way such that one ear is exposed to listen. He holds a bit of cloth meant to go over his eyes, and is looking at his general in the foreground. The general is taller and wears a similar green uniform and tiny glasses, and has a stern, grimacing expression with a prominent brow. The soldier asks "Sir, could you explain why I can't see or hear on this mission?" Panel 2: The general replies "We are facing a HIGHLY UNIQUE enemy, private. Your SIGHT -- as well as HEARING -- leave you liable to be compromised by their ABILITY." Panel 3: We see the soldier from the side as he puts the cloth around his head, covering his eyes, and gets ready to tie it from behind. The horizontally long thin window in the background indicates they are inside a bunker. Panel 4: The general's brow furrows more than ever, and his pupils shrink. A vein bulges on his forehead. He is lit dramatically by a reddit light from below as he replies: "Friendship."

yep! since i do a lot of thicker linework and use a pretty standardized set of brushes for the comic, something just immediately felt wrong

Following up: My only conclusion so far is "maybe it has something to do with the recent Windows update." I've reinstalled the Wacom driver, to no avail.

Imperfect, but the closest solution I've found is shifting the Tip Feel over one notch in Wacom Tablet Properties.

A young man with long and messy hair turns and smiles innocently at at you, walking through a battlefield with several abandoned guns, an abandoned helmet, and various trenches and barricades set up. His innocent smile is contrasted by the a shading which cloaks him somewhat in shadow against the setting sun behind him. He wears a white t-shirt with a red rectangle in the center, with "100" written on the inside of it in yellow. He also wears khaki shorts and sandals. Above him, is written "UNKILLABLE" in white letters with black backgrounds, and the two "L"s pushed up by the setting sun. Towards the bottom is written "A Shen Comix Miniseries Starting 2025/7/24"

almost feels like i have line correction enabled all of a sudden even though i don't. like, the lines are smoother than they used to be. smoother and thinner.

does anyone else who works on a cintiq (not cintiq pro, the regular), get a totally different pen feel all of a sudden, like you have to press down harder to get the line width you used to have? :S

was there a driver update or something? did i change something on my end?

Panel 2: The DPS, a character with yellow crosshair eyes, long dark purple gloves and blue boots, and a katana, is keeled over, leaning on one knee. A little under half of his health bar is gone and he is bleeding a bit from his mouth. He responds "Not great. One of the attacks skimmed me." Panel 3: The healer turns her head to look to her left. She says "Tank, how about you??" Panel 4: The purple-clad tank, his face and head cloaked in shadow, is smiling wide through the shadow and giving a thumbs up. His legs are rooted to the ground with thick vines, parts of him are on fire, electricity is running along his body, and a foul miasma eminates from him. He his only a smidge of health left, and a bit of shield. Around him are status effects: Poisoned, Paralyzed, Frightened, Burned, Cold, Cursed.

i'm tempted to say that, in terms of its degree of influence on the indie horror games scenes/horror games scene (let's be real, horror is kinda owned by indie devs rn), there is not even much difference between the two timelines

It's just a hugely influential game

P.T. is a very short free game, meant to just be a teaser for another game, which was cancelled, resulting in said teaser being taken down permanently, and followed shortly after that by the release of a pachislot machine

P.T. is easily one of the most influential horror games of all time

Panel 4: The jobhaver is clenching his teeth, sweating, and struggling not to cry as yet another balled up piece of paper and a empty can are thrown at him and bounce off his shoulders.

Panel 1: Akita Neru, Hatsune Miku, and Kasane Teto (in that order, left to right) are up on stage in front of a raucus crowd going "RAAAA" as Miku waves to them. The full Triple Baka is now present. Panel 2: Miku turns to Teto and gives her a mischievous look, with her hands behind her back. Panel 3: Teto seems to immediately understand, winking at her and giving her a thumbs up. Panel 4: Both Miku and Teto lean to their left and raise their right legs, preparing for a big step. Panel 5: Both Miku and Teto happily take a big step right, putting Neru between them. Neru, who is usually a sidelined character, is now, much to her own surprise, at the center of the group.

Panel 1: Akita Neru is at a microphone, nervously holding up her yellow smartphone and saying "Oh, um, I ... I-I didn't bring my flip phone ..." Panel 2: Neru, flanked by Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto to her left and right, looks frantically across the audience, asking "Does anybody have a flip phone?? Early 2000s style???" Panel 3: Neru notices a yellow-and-black sleeved hand pop out of the audience holding up a yellow flip phone. Panel 4: It is that freckled girl who didn't know who Neru was a little while back, now cosplaying as her, seemingly having become a fan between then and the concert. She is holding up a yellow flip phone, just like Neru's, which she brought as part of her cosplay.

There are no indicated sound effects in this comic, so the sounds are up to your imagination. Panel 1: Hatsune Miku, Akita Neru, and Kasane Teto are on stage performing their song Triple Baka, with Miku pointing forward towards the crowd, Neru tapping on her phone, and Teto singing contently. Teal, yellow, and red lights shine into the sky behind them. Panel 2: The crowd is going wild, many hands with glowsticks in the air. A few people are wearing Miku and Teto t-shirts. The Neru cosplayer girl from the previous comic is on her dad's shoulders to get a better view of the concert. Panel 3: The exterior of the amphitheater-esque concert venue. In the background is a girl in a hoodie with the hood up turned away from them, though there is a long yellow side-ponytail sticking out of the hood. Green shirt guy is saying "hey, remember that vocaloid song Triple Baka?" to which white tank top guy responds "Yeah!" Panel 2: Off panel, green shirt guy asks "who was in it?" White tank top guy takes a moment to thinking, with a thought bubble popping up with the virtual singer Miku in the middle, Teto to her right, and an empty space to her left. He says "Oh, uhhh, Miku, Teto ..." Panel 3: The virtual Singer Rin pops up to Miku's left in the thought bubble as the guys says "And RIN right?" Panel 4: We flip the camera from the first panel. The guys are now in the background, and we see the yellow-haired girl in the sweatshirt from the front. The green shirt guy is saying "oh yeeaaah" as who we now see to be virtual singer Akita Neru malds, fumes, and grinds her teeth, on the verge of tears (Neru being the actual third singer in that song).

Miku is saying something to Neru, and they're in casual clothes: Miku is in a purple t-shirt tucked into jean shorts, and Neru is in a loose white t-shirt and jeans. Panel 2: Miku gets swarmed by a gaggle of fans, saying stuff like "MIKU!!" and "OMG MIKU!!" Neru stumbles backward out of the way awkwardly as this happens. Panel 3: One of the Miku fans, a little girl with pigtails, looks over at Neru and they lock eyes, smiling at each other. Panel 4: Closeup of Neru's hand, with yellow-painted nails, sweeting out her big side-ponytail. Panel 5: Neru is shining bright in front of this girl, showing off her side-pigtail and her yellow flip-phone, just like she has in the music video for Triple Baka, a song for which she provides phone dialing sound effects. Panel 6: The little girl looks up at her and says "Lady, who are you?" She is also holding an actively melting Kasane Teto ice cream with gumball eyes, and it's looking pretty rough.

Panel 1: Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto are on stage at a concert venue, in front of cheering fans with teal and red glowsticks. Behind them is a screen large screen displaying a cloudy pink background. Miku: "We will now be performing TRIPLE BAKA!" Panel 2: One person in the crowd points at the stage and blurts out "WAIT! Wasn't there a yellow one in this song??" as others around him either look at him or look forward in silence. The Sanrio Boy and Junji Ito Girl from some of my other comics are there. Panel 3: The crowd begins to chant: "YEL-LOW-ONE!! YEL-LOW-ONE!! YEL-LOW-ONE!!" Panel 4: Miku looks over at Teto, unsure of what to do. Teto only returns her gaze, equally uncertain, as the chant continues in the background. Panel 5: Miku is projecting her phone onto the screen large screen at the back of the stage, for everyone to see, and is now video calling her friend Akita Neru, the yellow-haired girl who was the third one in Triple Baka. Panel 6: Neru picks up the video call, revealing that she's actually in the crowd at the concert, wearing a glowstick halo and holding another glowstick. A guy next to her is pogging, having realized it's her. The crowd explodes in a "RAAAAAAAAAAA"

Panel 1: Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto are on stage at one of their shows. Behind them is a large stage screen with Akita Neru on it, seemingly on a video call with them. Judging by the background, Neru seems to be in the audience somewhere, wearing a glowstick halo. Miku: "Neru, are you, um ... >>AT<< the show?" Panel 2: Closeup of Neru on the screen as she nervously mumbles something. The only word that can be made out is "every". Panel 3: Cut back to Miku looking at the screen, its glow falling on her face. Miku: "What?" Panel 4: Neru blurts, blushing intensely, blurts out "I'M AT >>EVERY<< SHOW," with Miku, Teto, and the whole crowd looking on.
