Two problems with this:
1. Johnson serves at Trump's pleasure. He has no agency to make promises because if daddy changes his mind, he'll fold.
2. Johnson lies all the time, about everything.

Duffy didn't get his job because he gives a damn about transportation or air traffic controllers. He got his job because he'll do whatever he's told. But there are real people and real lives at stake. All of whom deserve so much better.

I met with air traffic controllers in January, the day after the Potomac crash. The first question I got was whether DOGE was going to fire them and the second was whether Duffy's bad-mouthing DEI was a pretext to blaming women and minorities for the crash. Duffy is no hero.

Abraham Lincoln famously said that "in this country, public sentiment is everything. With it, nothing can fail. Against it, nothing can succeed." The crimes they are committing are horrific but keep that public sentiment in mind: neither their agenda nor their M.O. is popular.

And yes, the fact that this only warranted a 6 month jail sentence is offensive. But the way that Trump describes this child molester is shockingly similar to the way he described Epstein.
