Image contrasting Trump's propoganda with the reality on the ground in Iran

This isn't liberation, this is an ecological disaster

Over the weekend, Tehran was plunged into darkness after US and Israeli strikes on oil depots across the city

Toxic chemicals were unleashed into the atmosphere, polluting the air people breathe and turning the rain acidic

Illustration comparing fossil fuels to renewables

Spain built lots of wind and solar in recent years.

It paid off: prices are rising there too, but much, much less than in countries more dependent on fossil gas.

Renewables shield people. Fossil gas makes them pay more.

Hannah Spencer MP in her maiden speech in Parliament:

"Our struggles may be different, but our humanity is the same. We always stick together, we always fight for each other.

"And that is what I want us to take forward from International Women's Day and to do that every single day."

The planet is overheating. Why is the news looking away? Since 2021, global media coverage of climate change has dropped 38 percent. Blame wars, political chaos, and Jeffrey Epstein.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the shuttering of hundreds of news outlets. 🙄
Earth is the hottest in 125,000 years, but global news media coverage is down 38% since 2021, largely due to the daily chaos of the Trump administration, COVID, politics, Epstein, and war.

The question isn’t whether the economy will grow.

The real test is whether it feeds people, houses people, and protects the stability of our fragile planet.

A remarkable memorial for a remarkable man. The chancel of St John the Baptist's church in Allington was gloriously decorated in the late 19th century to commemorate the long-standing rector Fulwar William Fowle.

A few years ago I painted the ceiling of St Brothen's. Not a task to be tackled in a hurry! (as I usually am)😬

Might have to be my #ArtDD2026 daily drawing for today...

I think we're seeing that existential crisis in full display this week!

Lower bills.
Protect the NHS.
Protect public services.

And replace Labour.

This striking black rinzu (figured silk) kimono from the Taisho to early Showa period (1912–1940) features a bold, avant-garde composition of origami paper cranes (orizuru). The cranes are rendered using the yuzen hand-painting technique, appearing to soar across the dark expanse of the garment in a dynamic, scattered arrangement.

Each crane is uniquely detailed; some are presented in crisp, minimalist white, while others are filled with intricate floral patterns, geometric motifs, or vibrant splashes of green and coral. The sharp, angular lines of the folded paper forms contrast beautifully with the soft, luster of the silk and the subtle, woven-in damask patterns characteristic of rinzu fabric. The placement of the motifs—soaring upwards toward the shoulders and cascading down the hem—creates a sense of weightlessness and movement. This design reflects the era's fascination with traditional symbols reimagined through a modernist lens, where the ancient crane, a symbol of longevity and peace, is depicted through its geometric paper counterpart.

This rinzu silk kimono presents a masterful composition of origami paper cranes (orizuru) , appearing to float and soar across the garment's surface. Each crane is rendered with exquisite individuality through the yuzen painting technique. Taisho to early Showa period (1912-1940), Japan

Yet the Representation of the People Bill won’t even touch our voting system, which leaves millions unrepresented.
