#Juneau Our CBJ elections are coming up quick and if you aren't paying attention, there are some propositions on the ballot that could have substantial impact on city government.

Finally ditched Windows as my primary OS on my personal desktop in favor of #bazzite. Thoroughly impressed with how smoothly everything has gone.

I've run crafty (via docker-compose, not k8s) and been pretty happy with it. I had some issues with the fancier schedule features, but falling back to a normal cron-style task worked fine.

I've been running frigate for a couple years now with this setup and have no major complaints.

I'm handling local recordings via frigate, but they expose standard formats like someone else mentioned, so I'd guess most local recording solutions can tap in.

I've been pretty happy with my Reolink PoE one(used in conjunction with frigate and homeassistant). It does try and phone home, but I added a filter in my router to block external traffic to/from it without breaking my setup. I've had it about 8 months.

I had this happen yesterday - power went out and when I went to shut down my servers via my laptop, I discovered that the PoE switch that powers the WiFi AP wasn't on backup. So I had to swap that around while listening to the death beeps of the UPS on 0m runtime.

I find it extra crazy that so many state sites are down since the state IT department (at least for fish and game) has been pushing to move systems to Azure for at least the 2 years I've been working there. I would have assumed a redundant internet connection via GCI or something already existed.

I would guess it is part of the ACS outage that's going on here in Juneau.

That's the case for Flight Service up here as well. It seems like it lends FSS to bring treated as a stepping stone to ATC or other higher salary positions, mostly down south.
