There’s also a chance it won’t have a long theatrical run because Lionsgate hasn’t been promoting (guessing due to the political climate in the US) and box office sales seem catastrophically low - so buy a ticket soon!

The music, costumes, and sets during the musical segments are a treat to behold. And the other half of the movie is set against political unrest where the government in power is detaining, disappearing, and killing undesirables - they couldn’t have released this at a more appropriate time. Go see it

I also saw Kiss of the Spider Woman earlier. If you’re in the mood for a heartbreaking queer film / movie musical I can’t recommend it enough.

The 25th anniversary restoration of Battle Royale is great. You can clearly make out the Teletubbies at the end.
