I was. We started working on Oban in 1996 if I remember correctly and just as we released the very first trailer of what was then called"Oban racers" this pod thing comes out. Who would have guessed racing would ever find its place in the star-wars universe ? (in btw us still think it doesn t)
Thanks a lot for your support!
Take our Oban 20th anniversary survey! Your feedback will help us plan something truly special this year 😉

Cannot leave Japan without a visit to the Eiffel Tower's little sister: the Tokyo tower (1958 - 332 m) 🙂

The grand-father of manga and anime - Hokusai - is celebrated at the Creative Museum of Tokyo. A large selection of his famed "mangas" (1814-1878) are on display and its easy to see how influential they have been 🙂

Interresting Japanese space-saving concept of having a church on the 2nd floor and two chinese restaurants on the 1st! 🙂

Happy birthday! 🙂
Last Friday at #Japanexpo, I took part with Balak and Nao Hirasawa in a conference on the influence of Japan on French artists & the possible future collaborations between the two countries. The path we opened with #ObanStarRacers will hopefully soon lead to more, including Sav the World's own! 🙂
Last Tuesday was the 75th anniversary of Japan's membership to UNESCO, an important date that marked the gradual readmission of the country in international organizations. I was honoured to be a guest at the celebrations held in Paris for that occasion 🙂

Crazy storm in Paris last night. Waking up in with my neighborhood filled with broken branches and even large trees that just snapped in two! 😳

The always beautiful Eiffel Tower 🙂

A fantasy fan's dream castle come true: Burg Eltz, in the lander of Rhineland-Palatinate, which I had the pleasure of visiting this week 🙂

Gustave Eiffel's ancestors came from the Eifel region, in Germany, around 1700, and more precisely from the town of Marmagen, which we had the pleasure of visiting this week 🙂

Bon anniversaire !
Enjoyed a great performance from #KenshiYonezu tonight at the Zenith in Paris - all the more enjoyable when one knows how difficult it is to get tickets for his concerts in Japan 🙂
Happy birthday to the ever beautiful Eiffel Tower. Exactly 136 years ago today, Gustave Eiffel climbed the 1710 steps of the monument and raised a giant French flag on top to mark its completion. I wish I could have witnessed it with my own eyes! 😊

Small correction the exhibition is held at the "alliance française" not "institute" 🙂
My exhibition "Eiffel - Toujours plus haut", on the many battles my ancestor Gustave Eiffel had to fight to build his famous tower, will be touring Colombia in 2025, starting with the Bogota French Institute where it just opened 🙂

C’est avec émotion que j’apprends la disparition de Patricia Lyfoung, autrice de la bande dessinée « Rose Ecarlate », ici en 2000, collaborant à un film d'animation de Sav! The World Productions. Nous avions prévu l'année dernière de nous revoir prochainement. C’est trop injuste 😥
Eerie chimeras from the roof of the newly restored Notre-Dame cathedral I pictured this week. Did you know that unlike their gargoyle counterparts they were only added in the 19th century? 🙂
Sharing a pic of the wonderfully tasty Osechi - the typical Japanese new year's dish - my wife prepared for us today 🙂
Happy new year!
Bonne année !
あけましておめでとう!

It was a pleasure to give great Japanese actor Koji Yakusho a friendly tour of the Eiffel Tower earlier this week. Since I discovered his work in Tampopo, and later in Unagi and many more, I’ve always been a great fan of his 😊
