I've had a few people ask me about the release timing for the Pokémon Legends: Z-A DLC on Wednesday. Here's the facts

It'll be at the same time globally as it's a patch
Patches tend to drop 01:00 UTC (all prior DLC except IoA dropped then)

So this means it likely will be at that time on Wednesday.

Like where has that narrative even come from? Which creator started that nonsense?

Seeing people suddenly take the stance that a game is only main series if it’s the start of a generation is actually nuts

How can people be so confidently wrong? Main series is and always has been an official categorisation dating back decades.

Double check that you didn't need it after the DLC :P

Now we're getting the good distributions. None of that Mega Stone rubbish.

Main Series like them

People only just realising Pokémon Legends: Z-A is main series when it's added to the Game Freak site, even though it was flagged as it from the beginning and was marked as such on the official Pokémon site all year.

Well as long as people finally just accept it.

I was not expecting to need to do coverage today. I guess that's where my day is going

So the real question is, which method of these do people prefer

The Mystery Gift method of Legends: Z-A, with the gradual release...but servers may end in 10+ years
or
The Save Data Bonus of Legends: Arceus, where everything is there but you need another game save to access it

So with that, all the pre-release reveals before the DLC drop next week are done.

They've not really revealed too much about it, which is on par with how Pokémon reveal cycles are these days, so I'm very curious as to the full depth of the DLC. I hope it's sufficiently beefy.

The most intriguing thing about this game was how it utilised the GBA games.

Using the main series GBA games, you could create a race using the Pokémon in your teams which were turned into the courses. Such a clever oft-forgotten feature.

Next month is January, and thus 2026, which is Pokémon's 30th anniversary.

I'm so curious as to what they're going to provide across the franchise with this.

I can't wait to see how they top 2016 and 2021's celebrations.
