And again — most barely say anything when Trump assaults LA. There were no statements from leadership when masked thugs marched through MacArthur Park recently, there was a horrible attack at Home Depot this week. Silence. None of them have come to LA.

My issue is that Dems correctly identify that we’re facing an authoritarian, but barely act like it. They still work with the GOP on legislation, they confirm Trump’s picks, they refused to shut down the gov’t earlier this year.

No one beyond CA really made much of a stink - and the response to Padilla getting manhandled was a weak “we need answers!” from Schumer and then they continued working with the GOP on the genius act and confirming Trump’s picks.

To me, it’s so bad that it feels like a controlled opposition. I live in LA. Would have been nice for a Dem leader to visit or say anything memorable about the federal occupation and kidnappings.

Fraud is theft and a government which doesn't sufficiently punish and disincentivize it is failing at the core Lockean purpose of the state. This isn't a "we need more regulations" thing necessarily, it's a basic law and order anti-crime thing.
