Every Nord I have ever met loves their system, and they are consistently ranked as the happiest and healthiest democracies in the world. They live longer, and have higher literacy.

Nordic countries (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Greenland) are all democratic socialist countries. You still have capitalists and millionaires; but basic housing, education through doctorate level, and all healthcare are subsidized through taxation.

What is a democratic socialist?
Think of it as the best of both worlds. A robust market for luxuries and competition; but a tax-funded floor that guarantees necessities for all citizens. The system is also called "Nordic Model Socialism."

I thought about building a higher fence or stronger wall at my southern border; but then I realized it would be a waste of money. If they want to get across, they will get across. Then, I remembered that other displaced animals crossed the eastern border and no one complained about them.

But by and large, 80-90% of the critters are nice, hardworking, normal animals that just want to feed their families and find stability and security. We should welcome them and help them to feel useful, not turn them away over the actions of a few.

Me, I welcome homeless animals. If they need food, shelter, or just to be protected from predators, It's my duty to provide. Sure, some animals have become feral. There is always some small number of animals crossing the southern border of my yard that bite the hand that feeds them. That's natural.

Unfortunately, the only copy of that story - and about 30 others - is "saved" in my Facebook profile, which Meta won't let me access. I even asked for a copy of my files. They have banned/deleted my page due to some hacker. I've appealed, and they turned it down.

I survived my biopsy surgery. Now, we wait. They told me 3-5 days until we know if it is malignant or not. Let's all decide that it's benign, and our combined observational bias will force Schrodinger's Tumor to collapse into reality as non-malignant.

The oxygen we breath is older than our sun. Our sun only makes helium. We have never received or made NEW oxygen on this planet. It is simply constantly recycled. Animals breathe oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide, then plants and algae absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen.

I'm having surgery tomorrow. I've had exactly two surgeries in my life - tonsils at 6 years old, and adenoids at 35 years old. Tomorrow, I'm having a partial resection of a lumbar tumor. How do I feel about it? Dread.

I got to see my tumor today. It looks like a 1" round piece of cauliflower on the right side of my L2 vertebra. I'm having a biopsy next week. If it's benign, they will take it out laparoscopically in multiple small pieces. If it's malignant, they will perform a resection and take it all at once.

Happy Birthday to my son, Aidan Boyle, who turns 21 today! Aidan is on active duty with the U.S. Coast Guard. Today, he is at McMurdo Station in Antarctica! Bravo Zulu, young man!

Out of all this activity and change, a structure that can simply replicate itself emerges and persists - and it, too is subject to change and stressors. Not, "dirt and water."

Electricity, magnetism, gravity, solar radiation, kinetic forces, volcanism, tides. All mixing and swirling and heating and cooling and circulating multi-valent atoms and molecules that combine, come apart, and re-combine.

I read where a theist said, "Life cannot come from dirt and water. It REQUIRES a Designer."

That is, frankly, absurdly reductionist. Abiogenesis and evolution postulates a vast stew of interacting chemicals and molecules, all swirling and changing over eons in a dynamically energetic environment.

You sound like a teenager, and not a bright one. And since you've devolved into poor attempts at insult, I'll just block you. You get to tell everyone you "won." Isn't that nice?
