This was a print I did about 8 years ago. Two guys out on a date, having a good discussion at what was my favorite restaurant. Sadly, the place is no more but I was lucky enough to take a few reference photos long before it closed.

This is what happens when you put a lot of energy into something without direction. But that’s not entirely true either. I hope you get the gist.

Actually it's hard to say since I think I describe my process differently every time. It's intense, because I put a lot of energy into it, but at the same time it is laissez-faire as you said, because I go with the flow - I work on it for long time but I never maintain the initial idea of the work.

I'd say this is a result of me painting very slowly. The more time I spend on it the more weird and interesting it becomes. I try to always keep the old layers/brush strokes on, so a lot of texture and interesting spots happen, solely because I changed my mind on it and drew over it multiple times.
