Fast beans, pulses, grains, soups, curries. You can cook your vegetables in moments - and pressure cooking has been shown to nerve best method nutritionally for preserving nutrients and also ridding of anti nutrients. Invaluable for a vegetarian! (Pressure cooking here, not slow cooking!)
A lot. Pretty much anything you currently use an oven or cooker for, you can substitute for the pressure cooker instead. Quicker. Tastier. We were amazed at what The Boss of Instant Pot @catherinephipps.bsky.social manages to make e.g. letters.cookingisfun.ie/2013/11/23/p...
Wasn't going to make a stock but a veg stock only takes 5 minutes in the pressure cooker per @catherinephipps.bsky.social 's instructions so it'd be criminal not to
Making a chicken stew in the pressure cooker using @catherinephipps.bsky.social recipe. Some stir fried brussels on the side with lemon and Parmesan. Wine. Never had duck livers but eat a lot of chicken ones, esp on risotto.
😍😍😍
Tonight! @catherinephipps.bsky.social carrot and harissa soup from Everyday Pressure Cooking is on the menu and it looks like I'll be having Good Soup for dinner in less than 10 minutes?
Same here with Adam. 15 and eating all the carbs.
Children are odd. Adam suddenly takes dislikes to things and just as suddenly loves them again.
(Also, I have a recipe for ful medames in Modern Pressure Cooking).
You need my other books. It is the one year anniversary of Everyday Pressure Cooking today, loads of recipes in it you and your lot will love.
John, I am surprised at you!
Love it! Such a fun thing to do.
This morning I was flipping through @catherinephipps.bsky.social's 'Modern Pressure Cooking' again with my morning coffee.
One thing lead to another and instead of the planned beef stew a seafood boil appeared on the table. 😁
Made a version of @catherinephipps.bsky.social Keema Peas for lunches this week, throwing in random bits I had to hand. Delicious and I’m still stuffed 3 hours after lunch ❤️ www.stylist.co.uk/food-drink/l...
Lamb breast in the pressure cooker - only 30 mins using @catherinephipps.bsky.social recipe!
When you have Covid and cannot focus on anything and then you switch on Netflix and the second season of My Life with the Walter Boys pops up. Dross but very watchable dross and just what I need.
I am reading O Caledonia for the first time and it is sweeping me along, despite being awestruck by writing and observation on every page. I got out of bed just to go downstairs and read my husband a paragraph about false teeth which had me heave with the horror of it.
Parents! Carers! Anyone with children doing science GCSEs! A lot of you are buying revision guides for school year ahead. These help with exam preparation but provide no depth of knowledge or context about why science is important and worth knowing. “Why Don’t Things Fall Up?” does, and is just £3
You look so young!
it IS! But a good lot.
It’s a proper rollercoaster! Was wrung out by the end.
I am very annoyed with myself for finishing it on the day it came out. As usual. Worked for most of the day too.
Adam decided to make hot cross buns as he didn’t get enough last weekend. I was out for most of it. Bombarded by messages asking to buy sugar, yeast, raisins, allspice berries, all of which were exactly where they were supposed to be. But he got there in the end. Not all cross at my request!
I have just had the experience of my bone conduction headphones being bluejacked. A forced disconnect from my phone and a really creepy voice saying over and over again something like PS CREAM. Bit deaf so not sure. Factory reset seems to have worked….
And the rice pudding was so easy since done in instant pot - as per recipe from @catherinephipps.bsky.social
I usually go with some combination of vanilla, bay leaf and lemon zest but this was great
We’re off there tomorrow too as it is a vintage market week and I 🧡 the repurposed cashmere stall…
Yes, got mine at Ealing FM - Wild Country Organics.
(And thank you 😘😘😘)
