yeah I might try to use Claude directly more than chatgpt, since all these hallucinations of chatgpt lately is some kind of a joke at this point
I was using copilot, then tried supermaven, but felt like it was worse, so switched back to copilot but now copilot is just much slower and even more useless than supermaven, not sure what happened to it, wanna try supermaven again, at least to compare.
I am actually trying to use Claude for copilot and don't see any difference in quality between chatgpt and it, but could be related to the system prompt, dunno.
cursor's inline suggestions are better for sure.
just as an IDE cursor has annoying bugs
but is there any way to react to `onLayout` from the UI thread, not the JS thread?
i guess you can just run `executeOnUIRuntimeSync` in the useLayoutEffect calls, but perhaps we don't need to do this ping-pong between threads?
i wouldn't really use it for my actuall work, but for the side projects and experiments - probably yes
yeam, i don't know any official way to get "onLayout" event synchonously on the UI thread.
i guess the origian idea is to know exactly when the component is rendered from the worklet. so measure does let you know the size, but not when to actually call it.
is this a real thing?
first time trying cursor today and it's actually not as useless as chatgpt
exactly, if it's more complex than a few basic examples from opensource repos - it can't really do much.
right now for me claude model is both stupid and very slow. could be it's the code i'm working on is far from mainstream, but stil... it ignores the whole file and suggests the most random thing ever
did copilot (both chatgpt and cloude models) become much stupider? number of helpful suggestions went to less than 1%
it's not "pro" though
it's smaller resolution, worse screen and no 120hz
just get yourself a pixel pro and use it for a month you won't notice much of a difference from a pro iphone
I know about the tab icon, but it's just a habit from the other apps by this time. and yeah on Android status bar does not scroll up, but imo should
hey bluesky why tapping on the logo doesn't scroll to top?
the twitter app is literally the same tech and has a very similar amount of JS loaded and who the fuck cares about that lol
Just checked and twitter.com has a very similar amount of JS and no-one ever cared, except those 3 people who use PWAs (who are they?)
hey @bsky.app can we have at least grayscale background and `pre` for code blocks?
If you have some random bugs with `edge-to-edge` - make sure you don't have this line in your onCreate method on your Activity:
```
this.window.setFlags(WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_LAYOUT_NO_LIMITS, WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_LAYOUT_NO_LIMITS)
```
looks like mpeg4 is the most available one, but haven't tried it yet, we'll see if the sentry crashes rate goes down
you can use masked view to do the clip, but then just like you did with scaleX or any other cool things to translate the masking view. not sure if it's going to do all the work on GPU but definitely much easier than relayout
We saw lots of errors trying to play h264 video in exoplayer, which is quite interesting since i thought it's very well supported codec by this time.
what codec do you use btw? do you use that amazon streaming player?
do you also have some tips for rendering videos with random codecs? we've had some issues with local videos on random samsungs and some chinese phones
hey! everything's good, thanks
just realized there is no DMs here lol
how are you doing?
I'm not really often here, any suggestions to follow?
that's a really nice crappy device for testing. but keep in mind that people actually use even worse devices. try running discord on it to see how react native app can perform.
but also get yourself some flagship like pixel 7 to see the other side of things when the app is actually working good
Tonight Russia bombed an apartment building and killed people in Ukraine. Again. This time Lviv, the city just 50km from Polish (and NATO) border was targeted. Ukraine needs F-16s and ATACMS asap to counter those terroristic Russian attacks
as I said soon they will fix all the bugs
Well, happy yet another day without nuclear disaster to you all!
It's really amazing what they could achieve with the time and resources for 3 platforms.
