Watching Heat for the first time at HS summer program, girl stopped by dorm and asked what I was doing, said watching Heat and she said "I love Heat" and then a Pachino inflected "what do you say I buy you a cup of coffee," I was about to say "yes" before I realized it was upcoming dialog. That's 1.

Sarah Sackman, the courts minister, could not confirm in interviews on Tuesday morning whether Labour MPs who rebel against the vote would lose the whip.

“Nothing difficult or worth doing was ever easy and I don’t shy away from that debate. And indeed, some of those voices will be helping us to scrutinise and improve the bill as it goes through parliament,” she told Times Radio.

Debate? I love debate! Debate is the very lifeblood of the Mother of Parliaments. Would we kick everyone who disagrees with us out of the party? Can't really say yet. www.theguardian.com/law/2026/mar...

Basketball hoop proudly looms in a backyard. In an adjoining property, a basketball cowers.

Every morning I wonder, will this situation be resolved?

Starts off urban legends, monster of the week, so so. They add angels seasons in and it gets good. I think you can notice a jump in the quality of the stakes in this absolutely spoiler filled supercut of recaps going into each season finale. www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrTZ...

A clip from TrueSizeOf with Afghanistan covering Appalachia, smaller Iraq over parts for Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and pieces of Mississippi and Louisiana. Iran meanwhile draws high covering all of utah, Colorado and Wyoming and large parts of Idaho, Nevada and New Mexico and chunks of Texas, Oregon and Washington

Iran is substantially larger than Iraq and Afghanistan combined is also probably useful info.

Had a dream where I was hosting a party and a guest I didn't know asked, in a hushed, urgent tone, if they could take a bath.

What I get for insomnia posting. I think a single quote would be fair use but what do I know.

Indeed, this spring the 90-odd remaining hereditary peers are being ejected from the Lords. Mancroft is not amused. “You couldn’t treat any other group in our society — Jew, Muslim, Black, white, disabled — the way we’re being treated. Because it’s discriminatory. Apart from anything else, it’s deeply uncivilised.”

Such a shame the House of Lords is losing this perspective

Indian officials claimed that the Iris Dena, meanwhile, was unarmed, due to the nature of the exercise it had been taking part in.

“I am told that as per protocol for this exercise ships cannot carry any ammunition. It was defenceless,” Kanwal Sibal, a former Indian foreign minister, said on X. There is no way of verifying that claim.

Genuine question, we are saying the guy cited in the times of London were just lying/lied to? That would be very abnormal for exercises? www.thetimes.com/world/middle...

And, after watching one episode of Love Story which made me feel like I have brain damage, I do kind of want Ryan Murphy to make a Jeffrey Epstein show. I’ve been seeing 25-year-old straight guys walking around New York City in the year 2026 in Kangol hats because of Love Story; what if an FX show made them want to dress like Jeffrey Epstein?

JB: Okay, so I actually don’t know this about you at all: do you like TV? Like, “as a form,” but also as in do you have any tv shows you love?

CF: I don’t like TV, as in, I don’t watch it. But I do respect the form: Full House, The Bachelor, America’s Next Top Model, Dallas, Game of Thrones, Sex and the City. That’s the gamut this medium spans

For some reason I find this segue absolutely hilarious famousandbeloved.substack.com/p/the-indust...

This would be bad however good it was but it's striking how much better the Washington Capitals version of this was 15 years ago, very low minor league, maybe non-professional production quality

I don’t think this is particularly likely, but if Trump nuked a target in Iran, what do we think would happen in the US

My gut says first order response would be horrifyingly unresponsive, but after all the external responses kicked off much more serious.

My mind says the media would treat that as the #1 always front page story in the way they've skipped a lot of stuff.

(ii)if the passholder is entering by motorcyle—
(I)the passholder and any passengers on the motorcyle; and
(II)one additional motorcycle, including passengers, accompanying the passholder.

Motorcyclists can bring in a additional motorcycle? No? Yes? I've rarely felt more emotion and more ambivalence at the same time

I think reminding people how just tremendously fragile we are without modern medicine is good right now. Sort of skeptical the flashback will land this point.

In total, the U.S. deliveries through Lend-Lease amounted to $11 billion in materials: over 400,000 jeeps and trucks; 12,000 armored vehicles (including 7,000 tanks, about 1,386[61] of which were M3 Lees and 4,102 M4 Shermans);[62] 11,400 aircraft (4,719 of which were Bell P-39 Airacobras)[63] and 1.75 million tons of food.[64]

Roughly 17.5 million tons of military equipment, vehicles, industrial supplies, and food were shipped from the Western Hemisphere to the Soviet Union, with 94 percent coming from the United States. For comparison, a total of 22 million tons landed in Europe to supply American forces from January 1942 to May 1945. It has been estimated that American deliveries to the USSR through the Persian Corridor alone were sufficient, by US Army standards, to maintain sixty combat divisions in the line.[65][66]

Not sure you are human, but on the off chance you are there is so much to learn! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_...
