How do I escape this endless cycle of capitalism and consumption? Honestly staying off Instagram helped in the past because then I didn't see all the cute shops and small businesses and ads all day every day...

But then I'm like yeah buy the thing! Then I get things in the mail and I'm like I have too many things I want to purge and throw it all away because the clutter gives me anxiety and then I'm mad for buying stuff I don't need. Then I get sad. But you know what makes me happy? Buying things. 🫠

It's really slow at work today so all I've been doing is online window shopping because I really don't need anything but it's a bunch of stuff that I want. But I've had the treat yo self mentality too much lately and my credit card bill is definitely not pretty this month, especially after vet bills

Here was my final mermaid look for the Renaissance festival! 🧜🏻‍♀️💙 Unfortunately the pearl belt broke on one side late in the day but it was an easy fix once I got home. But I didn't realize until after we had taken pictures 😅

Costume test for my mermaid Ren faire outfit! I'm still working on finishing the bra top, still have lots of scales and sparkles to fill in. And I'm thinking I'm going to attach the pearl belt to the bottom middle of the bra? And idk what shoes, it's supposed to rain tomorrow so probably not sandals

Oh yeah I went to Michigan Anime Con last weekend and was finally able to cosplay as Nami! It was so much fun! I need to work on posing better for pictures though 😅🍊

I have a bunch of seashells that I've collected that I want to add and I should probably paint them to match the starfish? To keep the color theme consistent. I also have shell sequins, half pearls, and rhinestones to fill in the gaps

I'm making a starfish bra and I made them from wire and foam clay! Finally started painting them last night after work. I think one is done, except for maybe some glitter and a glossy clear coat. I hope the weather is nice enough this week that I can spray paint the clear coat tonight or tomorrow.

Trying to finish making a mermaid outfit to wear to opening weekend of the Renaissance festival this weekend. The weekend theme is pirates and pups so it's probably the best for mermaids! Except I've been procrastinating and haven't touched my projects in a week so now it's gonna be a crunch 😅
