TL;DR (though please do, it's not that long)
Murray comes in with such a higher baseline of play than any of the other recent reclamation project QBs.
He's kept a high floor over his career and keeping that level would be a big upgrade for MIN.
If there's a new ceiling unlocked, look out.
With Kyler Murray to the Vikings now official:
Ok, a lot is going on here. I mentioned Banks as a combine standout with @minakimes.bsky.social on her pod because he tested so well coming off an injury-shortened 2025.
Now he's hurt again, which obviously is not great. But also, he tested that well with a broken foot??
It's easy to get lost because of how much has happened in free agency, but Derek Carr said he'd be willing to come back for the right team and the entire NFL has said, "nah, it's ok, we're good."
One final BRYCE HUFF @sethwalder.bsky.social
this weekend, NFLPA player reps head to San Diego to vote for a new executive director to succeed disgraced former ED Lloyd Howell. JC Tretter- a former player and union exec who resigned from the union last summer- is high among the finalists to get the job

Zach Wilson was the only quarterback to have a higher bust rate than boom rate
Wrote a little about Kyler Murray, what he brings to the table, and what makes him different from the other previous reclamation projects he'll be compared to

The Titans know it's hard to make new friends as adults
Odighizuwa to the 49ers for a third.
Dallas kept adding to iDL, so he was an odd man out with Quinnen and Kenny Clark (though I'd rather Osa than the latter). Decent return for him given the circumstances.
Love this fit in SF, giving them some needed interior pass rush.
yup, I'm fully on board here on both sides.
Going back and watching Kyler, even in 2025, he's a much better rhythm thrower than he widely gets credit for. Also think the middle of the field concerns are fairly overblown too.
Also trust KOC as a build on strengths/limit weaknesses schemer.
he's good and cheap, which are two things the Vikings need right now, so they're the most natural fit
The more I’ve thought about this, the more I think it’s going to work
Understandable teams could be be scared off by the concussion history, but Jaquan Brisker is going to sign for some super cheap deal and be excellent for whichever team picks him up.
Washington flooding the market with these affordable, mid-tier youngish, vets is probably the right way to go about filling in the rest of the roster.
Okonkwo is an interesting piece at TE and Nick Cross is needed competence at safety.
Everything the Colts have done suggested this, but seeing it written and reported — not an ideal plan

Daniel Jones in the pocket with no mobility, what could go wrong
Consider me skeptical!
It's going to be super awkward when Riley Leonard looks fine to start the season
If Trey Hendrickson wasn't available and the Ravens called the Vikings about Jonathan Greenard last night, Minnesota's not hanging up
They're getting real sloppy with it too.
For example, the NFL still hasn't picked the exact date for the Australia game and from what I've heard, the Australian organizers thought most logistics would have been settled months ago.
NFL just doing things because they think they can.
Crosby non-trade fallout
- Crosby reverts back to LVR. OTC still has Raiders with over $30M in cap space with Crosby still on the books, shouldn't matter too much.
- BAL needs an edge. Big deals already given out. Hendrickson?
- DAL/JAX were in on Crosby, but if knee is so bad do they reengage?
This is the least fun explanation
WHAT
Over the past three seasons, Tariq Woolen has ranked 19th, 14th, and 14th in adjusted yards allowed per coverage snap.
A player who is widely viewed as inconsistent has played to about the most consistent level at a position where year-to-year stats fluctuate the most.
Riq Woolen at one-year *up to* $15M is insane. Cordale Flott, who I like, got a $15M average for three years. Woolen is objectively better.
Eagles sure up what was the most exploitable part of their 2025 defense and in line for a comp pick when Woolen gets a deal next offseason.
Howie Roseman is good at his job
Ninth among iDL in pass rush win rate and eighth in run stop win rate, per ESPN.
Quinnen Williams (now a Cowboy), only other iDL in top 10 of both.
His deal is mostly salary, but three years at under what JFM just signed for and he turns 28 in August.
