Getting excited about pokemon Z-A so here's my take on chikorita.
I see it as a weird little potato, bean, dinosaur thing. I tried to make it look like a baby sauropod but not give it too long a neck so it wouldn't be confused with bayleef.

I was going to base them off Scottish wildcats and Kellas cats. But I wanted them to a have a more fantasy and regal look so I went for a mix of lynx and domestic long haired cats. Onto the next one!

Finally finished this cat sìth spread for my fantasy felines zine/booklet project!

I've kind of merged the cat sìth and cat king folk tale together as they have similar appearances.

Clip studio time-lapse

The cute chonky dragon pokemon just got even more nonsensical, but I like it! It has a more of a whimsical fairy tail vibe.
I kinda just want to snip the little green wings off, or replace them with another pair of little feathery wings. But I'm just nitpicking.

I think I've decided on the general look and format for this fantasy feline booklet project. I hope.
This will be coloured and is part of a bigger spread with a couple of other cat sìth drawings and text.

I don't often render like this as its time consuming and I don't like leaving the safety net of lines. But after messing around in Clip studio for a while I wanted to try again. I like how this came out and it didn't take as long I thought, yay! Might do some more.

Time laps

A quick break from drawing cats with some pokemon fan art! Primarina has a fun design and I wanted to do my own take on them.
Went for an elongated sea lion, with longer fins and frilly webbing. Might colour them later.

Sketchbook experimenting with cat siths.
Just smaller than a5 so I struggled with the details.
Pencil, very light yellow and purple watercolour wash, followed by ink wash for tone. Used a micron pen make the cats and some other details pop a bit more.
