Powerful Israeli Airstrike Hits Central Beirut The attack was the third strike in the Lebanese capital this week, part of a wave of amped-up Israeli military activity across the country.

An Israeli airstrike on a residential building in central Beirut killed at least 11 people on Saturday, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry. Israeli officials said the strike was an attempt to assassinate a top Hezbollah military commander.
