Republicans post fake image of Oregon protest – using photos of South America
A federal judge had blocked Trump’s request to deploy California national guard to Portland
The Oregon Republican Party tried to help Donald Trump make the case for military intervention in Portland with an image of a fiery protest — but since Portland is calm, they had to fabricate one by merging old photos of police in Ecuador and protesters in Brazil www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

St Fagans: Bronze Age gold jewellery stolen from musuem
Police are investigating a burglary at St Fagans museum in the early hours of Monday morning.
Awful news from Wales, the St Fagan's Museum has been broken into and prehistoric goldwork has been taken. Its painful to think what objects might now be at risk. Thoughts with the museum team who must be devastated, all speed to the police and a curse on the crooks.

The old schoolhouse in Meigle in Perthshire. The image shows the interior of a large, white-painted room that extends up to a brown wooden roof with roof beams and skylights. There are a dozen or so grey carved stones on display, some on stone plinths and others on green bases above the green floor. In the centre of the room is a large carved standing stone covered in pictures of people and animals.
One of the largest collections of Pictish carved stones in Scotland is in the old schoolhouse in Meigle in Perthshire. The tallest is 2.5m high and might depict Daniel and the lions: or the execution of Queen Guinevere. More pics and info: www.undiscoveredscot...

How tech lords and populists changed the rules of power
Digital moguls and strongman leaders are far more than disrupters of the old liberal order. Together they seek to sweep it away, writes Giuliano da Empoli
Together, political predators and digital conquistadors have decided to wipe out the old elites and their rules. If they succeed, it will not only be the parties of lawyers and technocrats that will be swept away, but also liberal democracy as we have known it until today ↘️ on.ft.com/4nVwSII

The full artwork, a page from Romance of Alexander. Two men in a sailboat lower Alexander the Great in a massive bubble down into the ocean, where he encounters aquatic creatures of all kinds. His medieval submarine consists of a transparent barrel, helpfully lit by torches. And of course, he wouldn’t go anywhere without his gold crown!

Let this sink in for a moment:
Because it's so much more than just a map. It's years of research of various colleagues & disciplines. The lines in this map have been modified, re-drawn, and adapted with continuous research - to present, in this single image, an essential process in human history.

Every American needs to remember that Russia is only able to invade and terrorize Ukraine because, in 1994, the US and UK convinced them to give up their nuclear weapons.
They voiced specific concerns about a Russian invasion.
We promised to protect them.
Trump wants to break our promise.
