She definitely does. It’s just hard to see because of the makeup. Same with Cazador. Remove his eyeliner, and it becomes really obvious his family is supposed to be fantasy Japanese. Sad thing is, I think Karlach looks better without it??

I was like “never realized how tan he was until this image,” but that makes sense lol. He might have actually worked well with Mediterranean or Latin American features, in retrospect.

In my own writing, I saw him as someone who can distinguish good art, can even be at proficient at it, but who is fundamentally artless. His work might look good but be void of character and heart.

It’s not like HBO doesn’t have prestige animation series like Scavengers Reign under its belt, either. They know it can be done.

Mostly I just want to meet the agent dumb enough to suggest Astarion to one of their actors. You KNOW it’s a no win casting situation.

Really hope they wind up going to the direction of prestige animation for this because trying to do live action is just crazy given some of the fantasy visuals in it, not to mention the risk of bringing any of the OC cast in given how well received their VAs are.

I think the most baffling thing about the BG3 show announcement is that it’s implied to be live. Why on earth would you try to translate that level visual fantasy to a tv medium?? Just animate it! It’ll look better, cost less, and you’d already have potential VAs lined up to recommit to the roles!

Oh yeah, to be clear, I don’t see them as inherently flirty, just that all of the female characters clearly have some admiration of her strength. Using that to claim SH/Karlach is superior is silly for that reason.
