I feel like this was closer to happening in the nineties than we in the UK now realise

It feels like the producers of the game wanted to make a movie and RELUCTANTLY put in some pretty good gaming bits so they could still call it a game. The snowy mountain path bit of Jake's campaign is one of the most frustrating bits of gaming I've ever played, truly stupid.

Resi 6 is a game that doesn't know when to get out of the player's way. Cueing up a sniper shot? uh oh, here's a big monster that makes the ground shake so your aim is fucked! Starting to get a feeling of cool forward progression? Uh oh, here's another cut scene!

Ploughing through this, the Leon campaign is great, the Chris campaign is okay with some great bits, the Jake campaign sucks and has bad stealth mechanics that don't work.

Yeah. I genuinely said to my mate, Glen: "Oh, Quigley's Down Under now." when we stopped to look at the film poster in our local cinema.

(But yes, I did think there was more than one quigley film…)

When you were young (and assuming you're of a certain age) did you think Quigley Down Under was part of a series of Quigley films, like there was a film just called Quigley and maybe another one called Quigley In New York

Yeah, that's true, the film is at its best when it rides on Lloyd and Fox's chemistry. The love interest is rubbish, I kept waiting for a twist on the character, but she's in love with Doc and has no other traits at all. Rubbish.
