LXC swore that this had been the best Christmas he had ever celebrated, with the best food and company too.

It was his first Christmas with JC, but by far not the last.

Years later they were happily married, had started their own family and for LXC Christmas had truly become a holiday of love. 💜💙

He felt his ears grow warm from his own eagerness, but the other man rewarded LXC with a rare little smile which made the embarrassment totally worth it … and didn’t fail to make LXC‘s heart race.

„Come on in then.“+

LXC sincerely hoped this was the invitation it looked like.

„If you’ve got nothing else to do … maybe you‘d like to have some food? You don’t have to sit down with me of course, you can just take it home.“

„I‘d love to eat with you!!!“

LXC answered a bit to enthusiastically.+

Had LXC known the other better he would have given the man a big hug, Mister Jiang seemed truly disappointed.

„Oh, I‘m very sorry to hear that.“

„It’s ok, can’t be helped now. The thing is … I‘ve kinda cooked up a storm and I don’t really want to eat it for the next month.“+

The neighbour fiddled with his hands for a moment. „You see, my sister‘s family was supposed to come over for Christmas dinner today… but my nephew got a stomach bug at kindergarten, now their whole household is at home vomiting…“+

LXC made his way over to his apartment, maybe he should order takeout…

„Mister Lan!!! I mean, Mister Lan.“

LXC turned towards the voice, facing the neighbour who was standing awkwardly in the doorway.

„Good evening Mister Jiang. How can I help you?“+

LXC stepped out of the elevator, his nose immediately got hit by the smell of home-cooked food.

His stomach grumbled. Right, he saw his (cute) neighbour carrying bags upon bags of groceries up the other day.

The man was probably having family over.+

LXC didn’t want to be the only one in the whole Lan Group working overtime this day. He wanted to spend his time with LWJ, his brother-in-law and little nephew.

Well, tough luck, they lived a plane ride away.

So he was alone, tired from work and all in all in a bad mood.+

Well, because he had been every year. He didn’t celebrate Christmas. After all it was nothing but a western holiday to promote consumption, at least according to his uncle.

Which was probably right, the thing, however, was that LXC liked celebrating with his family.+

How there’s always some of LXC‘s favourite desserts in the fridge.

LXC does know how much JC loves him and he revels in it.

So he gladly tells JC how much he loves him enough for both of them.

It makes them all the more special.

But what really counts are those small gestures JC himself doesn’t even notice.

Like LXC‘s favourite cup standing right next to the already filled up water kettle every morning.

How JC unconsciously holds onto LXC when he sleeps.+

Is LXC aware that JC’s heart would irreparably shatter if the former chooses to leave?

In reality though, he doesn’t need to worry, because LXC (and of course also JL) knows how much loved he is.

LXC also knows that JC has a hard time expressing it.
