Everything we do is for otters. We want to be able to help every otter that needs it. From otter cubs that weigh less than a can of fizzy drink to adult otters that need some TLC.

Yesterday, we had another young otter through our doors. Unfortunately, she's in a bad way and is in our ICU unit. She currently weighs 3.6kg but is underweight. We'll share an update when we can.

Work has started on tearing down our centre and moving to our new land. But, our main focus is still the otters.
We are absolutely blown away by everyone's support for our plea to help save our charity. We can't thank you enough. Our founder, Dave, filmed a video this morning to say a personal and heartfelt thank you.

Everything we do is for the otters, and we'll rebuild bigger and stronger.
We've begun the heartbreaking task of tearing down our Specialist Otter Rehabilitation Centre. Our dedicated volunteers built our centre from the ground up, and it's a sombre mood as we need to tear it down.

How you can help:
This is no small task, and I know itβs a big ask. But my priority - as always - is the cubs. We must meet this target. If we donβt, the UK Wild Otter Trust will not survive. Years of work could be lost.
02.10.2025 08:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0We estimate the total cost of moving, demolishing, and rebuilding will be around Β£15,000. We have six months to vacate this land - and therefore six months to establish the new site.
02.10.2025 08:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0In the meantime, we need funds in the bank to keep operating: to feed the 14 cubs currently in our care and to cover essential bills. Returning the current land to its original paddock condition will be costly.
02.10.2025 08:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0we plan to rebuild and start again on a new site in North Devon, generously offered by a supporter. Establishing the new site will also bring its own significant costs and challenges.
02.10.2025 08:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0including 20 otter enclosures and our otter hospital, will take time. It took almost four years to build it to the high standard we need to deliver our work.
Although still very much working out the logistics,
To say we are shocked is an understatement. We have had little time to process this because our agreement requires us to restore the land fully if we ever move. Breaking down the centre,

Otters have βcouchesβ ποΈπ¦¦.
These are above-ground places where they rest during the daytime. You might spot areas of flattened reeds or long grass at the edge of the water forming a mat.
