I enjoyed the recent @royaldrawingschool.bsky.social Evening Life Drawing Contemporary Portrait zoom class. This was my first attempt at the task - loose watercolour portrait in under 5 minutes.

Inspired by all the amazing artists at #GouacheLive - I chose gouache to paint this Italian house from a trip back in 2017. It's a bit more complex than my usual landscape but I enjoyed the challenge.

I started to teach myself to paint with watercolour, then progressed to acrylics, discovering soft pastels along the way. I like them all but I think oils have won my heart. This is only my 4th ever attempt with oil paints (on paper) based on a holiday photo of Cyprus #landscapepainting #oilpaints

I'm very excited for #gouachelive in a couple of weeks so thought I better have a go at using the medium. Inspired by Jurassic Park this scene is from imagination. Can't wait to learn more about what gouache can do. #landscapepainting

I attended a workshop this weekend to try mixed media #landscapepainting Storm over heather heathland was created with tape, paper, wool, fibres, acrylic and soft pastels.

Lovely, shows what can be achieved with a simple subject and colour. Thanks for sharing.

Four wet felted soaps in blues, greens and yellows. The soap is wrapped in wool roving and felted into palm sized balls.

This enjoyable festive project is great for gifts - I wet felted over Greek Olive Oil soaps. Happy holidays.

A friend of mine swam the English Channel last year as part of a relay team. Hot chocolate by the fire sounds great, but I think I'll skip the swimming.

He's a quick little needle felted snowman I made in a couple of hours yesterday. The core is Jacob fleece that I purchased raw and hand washed. I was tempted to add arms but decided to keep things simple. #needlefelting #crafting #christmas

Sewing has taken a back seat in my life as I've been painting & felting more, but this quilt is so lovely it reminds me of all those projects I have waiting in the fabric cupboard.
