Nexstar wants News Nation to be Fox News. This was a no brainer for them.

ABC won't fire him. They'll keep paying or buy him out. They had to placate Nexstar because they still need local TV stations and the hit to their bottom line of removing Kimmel was negligible. It's all about sports and streaming.

They're also after a piece of the Fox News pie with News Nation. This does nothing but help their cause all around.

This is it. Nexstar is doing the same thing CBS did so their deal will go through. Speech suppression is fine if there's money to be made.
