This is not to say Israel does not have an influence, of course. But it's influence based in shared interests, shared militarism, shared racism, etc.
But Israel does not CONTROL America. America has no problem bombing brown people without Israel or anyone else.
My take on why many (white) progressives say that Israel is making the US go to war is that they would very much prefer that to be the case than to have to examine their own culpability and participation in America's white supremacist militaristic reality.

Her politics aren't confused, she's just falling down the far right rabbit hole. It's very frustrating to me that this is always framed only around antisemitism: this is about a successful far right recruitment campaign using a progressive sore point (Israel).

As we wait for more details to emerge from what appears to be an ongoing attack on the largest Reform synagogue in America, we send love and solidarity to the entire congregation and community.
Regardless of what exactly is happening, no community should have to live with this fear.
