Honestly it should be front page news that the most recent Democratic candidate for president thinks the entire system is broken to the point she won’t go back into public service.

Incredible trick on his part to have millions of people worship him as they blame immigrants for their problems.

Seeing Kamala Harris openly say that the system is broken was so powerful.

Just having someone in her position say it so candidly without qualification was beyond powerful.

It was Biden’s entire talking point for the election and well before it. Feel free to look it up!

BTW same logic here applies to Dem treatment of trans people and Black people (aka "crime"). It's a pattern and approach, and amazingly it's still being doubled down on.

Which is why it's so important for the base to push back hard.

This also correlates with more socialization. Gen Z drinks less and is lonelier and more addicted to tech. Not a coincidence.

The idea that this is by definition bad can mean people overlook how much deeper loneliness is as a health crisis in America.

And if they don't speak out, they should be primaried. The failure across the board should mean we have more Mamdanis removing more Cuomos and Adams's.

No other way to regain both power and a moral center. Not even sure if "regain" is the right word.

These lessons matter, because these leaders need to be held accountable & to understand how their constant attempts to be like the right has led them to losing power.

And that doesn't even get us started on their role in the suffering of immigrants.

And they need to speak out about their failure.

It's really really really important that people don't forget that Democrats contributed to the demonization of immigrants.

They spent 2 or 3 years trying to pretend that they were as tough as Republicans, thereby validating the slander spread by the right.

This led directly to where we are.

People sharing the idea that things have swung to the right are generally the same ones unwilling to admit the deep level of inequality in this country, not to mention the extreme amount of transformation required to address it.

They are focusing on the clothes instead of the body.

I can't help but feel concerned that the Manhattan shooting will be used as a way to take down Mamdani. Whenever America is close to any sort of real progress, "crime" rhetoric becomes the mainstay response that keeps dragging us back to the stone ages.

Maybe we'll learn this time around.
