We Need to Talk About the Pink-Pill Pipeline You can't slap a tiara on a human rights crisis and call it the 'princess treatment'

They’re depoliticizing women’s subjugation.

Every β€œday in the life” video of a 20-year-old laying out her husband’s socks, and every magazine spread of a stay-at-home mom with five kids in matching beige outfits, take women’s subservience and make it…cutesy.

The β€œfor the entire lesson” part is the most frustrating to me. I have three preps. It would take my entire whiteboard up to have all of that posted! On the first slide should be good enough since we all know students never look at it.

I’m so excited to sit in a room full of adults and be talked at for days, absorbing content will be neither differentiated nor will the delivery be best practice, in hopes that it’ll inspire and prepare me to be the teacher my students need and deserve πŸ™ƒ

I maintain that while high school is meant in part to help prepare kids for the world in general, we are not doing job training. It's my job to get kids to think critically, not teach some janky-ass computer program that requires no skillset.

What Would a Real Friendship With A.I. Look Like? Maybe Like Hers. (Gift Article) Chatbots can get scary if you suspend your disbelief. But MJ Cocking didn’t β€” and wound up in a relationship that was strangely, helpfully real.

You know where lonely kids used to find solace and comfort in order to learn about themselves and the world?

Books.

AI β€œfriendships” are yet another symptom of an absence of books in our schools. www.nytimes.com/2025/07/20/m...

I teach @lenakt.bsky.social’s β€œRunning Orders” and it’s important to contextualize the poem: it wasn’t written in 2023; it was published in 2017, so the experience is deeply rooted in a LONG history of displacement and violence. It’s not new; students MUST know this.

Poems about ongoing, current, unimaginable pain like this are hard to talk about. What a stunning poem, running down the page in anger and grief, not fear. The word choices at the ends of lines work to convey the situationβ€”β€œclosed,” β€œworthless,” β€œsentence,” β€œnarrow,” β€œhouse,” β€œplace,” β€œnowhere.”

Running Orders It doesn’t matter that you can’t call us back to tell us the people we claim to want aren’t in your house that there’s no one here except you and your children who were cheering for Argentina sharing ...

So today’s poem is absolutely devastating, huh? #poemadayJuly www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/143255...

Child of Omelas? That’s thinking too small. What if like eight billion people suffered so a few dozen guys could live lives so insane they convinced themselves it’s more likely they’re inside a computer simulation

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

I am grieving the barbarism that is going to unfurl from all this. People are going to die. Livelihoods gone. All to feed a corrupt kleptocracy.

I see every day up close how different it is from the first time around. There are no guardrails. A disaster. I’m sorry we have to live through this.

1. there will still be tiger village music on spotify, just no early material/deep cuts. get that literally anywhere else

2. some artists need to stay on spotify because leaving is basically them quitting their job

3. no one should pay for spotify. let’s give artists more of our money elsewhere

The title reminds me of something our school counselor once told students during Covid - β€œyou’re not your anxiety/depression/etc., you’re experiencing anxiety/depression.” We aren’t named sorrow just because we experience it. We can choose who we are and want to be.
