We definitely approach these problems differently. I will have to look again to see why I thought I needed that last equation.

I’m going to #TryMathsLive with this problem from @findthefactors.bsky.social, created using @transum.bsky.social’s Digimoji, which was inspired by my game Digit Disguises.

I found your first puzzle easier to solve than your second puzzle, but I eventually was able to figure it out. I really like these puzzles a lot especially when only 8 or 9 equations are used. Can you solve mine? Digits -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 are disguised.

Hello @davidkbutler.bsky.social - I had the urge to create (yet another) one-player online game/puzzle based on your Digit Disguises game. I have yet to try it out with students though.

Thanks so much for all the sharing you do. Have a great weekend!

New Knot Theory Discovery Overturns Long-Held Mathematical Assumption Mathematicians have unraveled a key conjecture about knot theory

Neat discovery: Two knots whose connected sum has an unknotting number less than the sum of the unknotting numbers of the knots. This provides a counterexample to an old conjecture.

MATHS TEACHERS: If you’re seeking ways to add quirky β€˜real world’ maths to lessons next year I’ve updated my blog index robeastaway.com/blog/blog-in... .
You can use it to find odd applications of (say) quadratic equations. It’s the sort of thing you might use as a lesson starter (1/3) #TMiP25

The Book is Done!!! After five long years of writing, drawing, and formatting, I finally did it – I published my children’s book: A Very Variable Adventure: From Alphabet to Algebra. Hooray!!! Maybe now I’ll actually …

Now that I finished my book I have been extremely excited to explore new ideas with my blog.

Ironically, my first new post is . . . about my book. πŸ˜†

I'd love to know what you think:
