The metal Ungors I have painted so far btw. One of my early attempts at painting mostly with undiluted oil paints.

Painting Beastmen, Ogres, and Tomb Kings down here in Aotearoa. Politically liberal: anti-commie and anti-fascist.

PoV: you took Elon's advice
25.11.2025 07:02 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You should go for it! Apparently they're pretty good atm, which balances out how bad I am at the game. π
25.11.2025 06:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Also, Gors are way too big for the recommended 25mm bases! Even 28.5mm bases look too small for them. Keeping mine on 32mm fron AoS
25.11.2025 01:55 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Test for my Beastmen movement trays---I'm liking the matching texture on the trays and bases. Should look nice when painted!

A different size is given in the product description, which seems more reasonable:
21.11.2025 22:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Surely 80mmx60mm bases for Marauders are a mistake? I'm guessing the width is actually 30mm or 40mm?
21.11.2025 22:08 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0That's right!
17.11.2025 00:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Late to the party, but got my first 3D printer (Bambu A1). Have been printing a bunch of movement trays, using tabletopbling.eu
to make .stl's. Now I can easily use my models for both AoS and ToW!

Yeah the only other basing option that seems plausible is 28mm, but I suspect they will remain on 32mm.
11.11.2025 01:53 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Did GW happen to reveal base sizes for any of the new Nurgle units?
Given the unit size, I'm guessing the new Pestigors are still on 32mm bases.

Good thing Wild Herd Viletide spam incentivizes a ton of Bray Shamans!

08.11.2025 00:52 β π 10 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Did a little bit more texturing work on Urkhan's cloak after priming with Rustoleum flat black. Again just cross-hatched with a hobby knife and then stippled a tiny bit of Tamiya Extra Thin cement to slightly soften it.

I prefer them to the Forgeworld models, but yeah I don't like the artillery pieces either
06.11.2025 08:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yeah they're so good! I'm not sure if I like the actual dwarves though, but maybe it's just the Warcraft-inspired GW paint scheme

Picked up some Bull Centaurs since I love anything Assyrian and Beastmen-adjacent. Really cool models! Very easy to assemble as well. Probably the most beginner-friendly models GW has released for AoS in a long time.

Yeah I used a little bit of Tamiya Extra Thin afterwards

I'll of course do the same cross-hatching with my brush when painting, but hopefully this will help sell the cloth effect even more.

Jane Goodall was my first childhood hero, as I loved animals as a kid and was inspired by her story. I still remember the National Geographic specials about her. RIP.
