I need to stop overthinking about the smallest things
I have a lot of love for people, but I always worry that others will take that love for granted. It burns me out and makes me feel undervalued when people only come to me with mental health questions. At least ask me first if I am willing, and please respect my answer when I say no.
I want to stress that I am fine with helping a friend as a friend, but if you come to me asking mental health questions, understand that I may not have the power or energy to do so. If you seek things a client would ask for, I will likely say no, ss I can get in trouble with my graduate program.
Just want to make this clear. Yes, I work in mental health, but that doesn't mean I am always going to give everyone mental health advice. I work with clients during the week and would like my off time. I am happy to help others as a friend, but there are those who come to me like clients.
